The new school has fully arrived with these playoffs, and it's awesome. The LeBron/Curry/Durant era is over, all love and respect to those guys, but the league has moved into the start of a new era. The two western conference series in particular feel super fresh, every team is unique in lineup and style. Love this moment we're in. And the Wemby Spurs aren't even good yet!

@mrcompletely It’s been so great. Round 1 was incredible and 2 has been full of surprises too. T-Wolves and Thunder looking unreal when they’ve been on. Glad to see some back and forth though. Denver looked good last night too.

Using just your ears, what year is this Dark Star passage from?

caravan,
@caravan@heads.social avatar

@mrcompletely @4CPcomics There is a lot of great stuff to mine from June 76. Not under the radar by any means but I have a soft spot for 6/14 and 6/15. The Slipknot from 6/14 is a winner.

United Blood is the debut EP 7" from New York hardcore band Agnostic Front, released in May 1983 on their own AF Records label

@historyofpunkrock It’s so bad, it’s good. During this time Raybeez didnt even have nuts for his cymbals and every time he would hit them they would fly off.

Not even sure what to say. Have hoped and prayed for this day since the first Dick’s Picks was announced. Something about 5/4/77 has always spoke to me above and beyond any show. Not saying it’s the best and not comparing to any other show (May 77 or otherwise) but for whatever reason this show has always been it for me and has been with me through highest highs and lowest lows. Stoked they also squeezed a bunch of the first set in as filler too. (1/2)

This would have been quite the bill if the show ever happened. Hard to believe it was actually booked. Then again, GG probably would have fit in with some of the Oaks crew. https://www.ebay.com/itm/115920611311?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=yC3-BlA7RRa&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=HGaoN8GqSZy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Pretty stoked that today, which also happens to be , I will be checking Wrigley Field off of my stadium list. Can’t stand the Astros but excited to visit the park. Any recs from locals are welcome.

The amount of people at these shows who are not taking any psychedelics is kind of hard to think about.

caravan,
@caravan@heads.social avatar

@chopaganda The first night it would have been too much for me since there were so many unknowns and I wanted to soak it all in. Being high in that place last night was awesome. But you really don’t need it. So much sensory overload either way.

Thinking about bands that could fill the Sphere AND use it to its full potential, and I keep coming back to Tool being #1 on my wishlist.

caravan,
@caravan@heads.social avatar

@justinbruce @mrcompletely @chopaganda @jessay @drewphish The visuals and music at the Tool show I went to (at a regular basketball arena) were so insane in an overwhelmingly psychedelic way that I can only imagine what it would be like at the Sphere. Would be a perfect fit.

caravan,
@caravan@heads.social avatar

@mrcompletely @chopaganda @Rosey @BEK97 @justinbruce @jessay @drewphish Haha. Facts. I’ve crossed paths with Beyoncé irl and she is truly larger than life. To see her up on that massive wall would be something to behold. I was thinking in terms of rock bands. I think a lot of pop folks would rock that place. Phish differs in that you won’t see the same show twice. (1/2)

caravan,

Be interesting to see if D&C recycle some of the video content. I’d imagine so. (2/2)

caravan,
@caravan@heads.social avatar

@Rosey @mrcompletely Yeah, it was the same thing with me. She walked into Sony Studios when I was working there in 2004 and literally everyone stopped in their tracks until she passed through. She’s like a super hero.

caravan,
@caravan@heads.social avatar

@mrcompletely @Rosey It must be crazy to go through life like that. I used to be in a career where I worked with lots of famous people (at different levels of fame) and it’s interesting to see how different folks navigate it. But still, very few people had the stopping power of Beyoncé. Some people are super famous but also unassuming. I worked with Bowie once and he was just a regular, super nice guy.

caravan,
@caravan@heads.social avatar

@mrcompletely @Rosey Yep, and then there are the people who are barely famous and are condescending to everyone they meet. I’m looking at you Courtney Love.

caravan,
@caravan@heads.social avatar

@mrcompletely @Rosey We just said the same thing for sure. They’re all over the place.

caravan,
@caravan@heads.social avatar

@aburtch @mrcompletely @Rosey I worked as an assistant on one of the Hole videos and she would just sit there with her cigarette and yell “ashtray” to no one in particular like we were all supposed to come running. It was bizarre.

I'm not a serious King Crimson fan, in fact hardly at all, but I'd go see this lineup if it was playing nearby, which is isn't, but they're playing just about everywhere else in the US, so here.

Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Steve Vai, Danny Carey is the lineup. I'm a huge Belew fan, Vai not so much but he can play the Fripp parts, Levin is great, but Tool drummer Carey is the ringer here - a chance to see him (he's insanely good) play non Tool material 👀👀👀

@thesizzler @Phreba @lizardllama That is one of the sickest ones ever. He just holds that note forever. Top version. Listen to the audience source for maximum effect.

caravan,
@caravan@heads.social avatar

@SourceRolls @thesizzler @lizardllama @Phreba Yeah, it’s a great arena. The ‘13 show wasn’t great besides the Plasma but the venue is good. Unfortunately, as @mrcompletely likes to say, we live in the land of tour openers. Just once I’d like them to come through town with 7-10 shows under their belt. And then play 3 shows at the Hult!

caravan,
@caravan@heads.social avatar

@thesizzler @SourceRolls @lizardllama @Phreba @mrcompletely Climate Pledge is rad. I would put it a step or two above MKA but would rather go to Eugene for a show. Key Arena was the worst so I’m glad they turned it around. The Ridgefield shed can be OK, I saw Sabbath there and it ruled. Now that they are having rock shows at the Timbers venue again, I have a secret dream for the phish to play there but that’s a pipe dream.
