I dedicate this model to those who love Zelda TotK and have access to a multi-material 3D printer... That might indeed appeal to a rather niche audience 😅
I designed it using Open Source software only: GIMP for cleaning bitmap images, Inkscape for converting them into vector graphics, OpenSCAD for assembling them as 3D volumes, and OrcaSlicer for sending the result to the 3D printer.
I've just finished building and configuring my #OpenScan Mini (RPi 3 B+ & camera module v2.1). The first tests are impressive! Here's the result for a small seashell (39×29×24 mm³) scanned in two passes (100 photos each) reconstructed by #Meshroom.
Today, I combined into a single project my two favorite hobbies: #MechanicalKeyboard and #3Dprinting. I designed new cases for my Model 100 keyboard, using #OpenSCAD and #BOSL2, and then printed them using PLA- CF filament on a textured PEI plate with a Bambu Lab X1C. No post-processing was necessary.
I designed with #OpenSCAD and #BOSL2 a #lithophane that not only showcases its beauty with a backlight but also retains a satisfactory appearance even without one — unlike, in my opinion, the majority of lithophanes 😎
