To all the folks that have sent me private messages about my rant on Canonical's interview process the other day, I'm not shitting on the Canonical employees or the Ubuntu Linux distribution. The folks creating Ubuntu are AWESOME and so is the distribution. I'm asking Canonical leadership to make the interview process a bit less, well, demeaning and demoralizing. Embrace the folks that could make Open Source/your company better instead of making them feel worthless after 3 months of interviews.

I used to have a list of Linux and/or Open Source companies that I wanted to work for. I got rid of the list when I finally realized I would never get hired by any of them. Canonical was number two on the list. I've always heard that getting into Canonical was hard but I just read about such a demoralizing 3 month experience that someone I follow here on Mastodon went through before being turned down by Shuttleworth, himself. Reading this definitley turned me off of Ubuntu.

If you're a Linux user, what was your first Linux distribution? For me, it was the second "official" release of Slackware. I learned a lot about Linux running Slackware 30 years ago. I actually ran it for 8 years before making the switch to a different Linux distribution. Really, really good times.

Any Linux users here running the @Vivaldi browser? Like an idiot, I deleted a few bookmark folders from my Speed Dial. I thought it would be simple to restore them but I'm having zero luck accomplishing this. I have sync setup and use it regularly. Is it possible to move back to a previous sync, just a day or hour before this happened?
