@tyil, I happen to have got an end-grain one and after oiling I noticed it’s a bit porous for mineral oil alone to seal. Just ordered some that is mixed with wax but it’ll take a few days to arrive.
BTW that shit drinks up so much oil I start to wonder if usians are made of cutting boards instead of rocks or clay like in commonly told tales.
@cnx All cutting boards drink up a lot of oil in their initial seasoning, it is a hidden cost when you buy one. I used almost the entire bottle of oil I bought with it!
But I think it was worth it, I have a nice, large cutting board now and its a joy to cut on. I have since also invested in higher quality knives, which makes the prep part of cooking much nicer in general.
Oi @steffo, did De Cecco (why is de capitalized BTW) get more expensive locally? The price of its pasta jumped up 50% here since I last buy some (around the end of last year perhaps, I restock every few months), unlike most other dry goods here. Luckily that supermarket started to stock felicetti so I came home with 2.5 kg of its stuff.
Interesting, @steffo, it used to be the cheapest bronze-cut option here (to be fair the only other option was Rummo, and then some ultra expensive art is anal shits). Cheap dried paste here are not cheap either (like 30% less, but all are imported and still much more costly than rice) so I have them like once a week.
Hi @efraim, @fd9a and @Z572, I just got a VisionFive2 for my home server and plan to run Guix System on it. Is it often for RISC-V systems to build packages locally? (I don’t have any faster machine of that arch and QEMU with binfmt runs really slowly and failed to build me certain packages when I tried to build an image.)
If there are often cache for base packages, may I ask you a favor of building a minimal image for the mentioned SBC?
TFW rewriting the clipboard manager from #Raku to #Perl saved 20 times of memory :blobfoxnotlikethis: The service does literally nothing most of the time waiting for an event and keeps all states in the file system and Rakudo still manages to eat up a whooping 168 MB of RAM :floofWoozy: I really like the language but its reference (and now also only) implementation’s performance (or lack thereof) really stops me from keep using it.
BTW, fun fact: if you chop a string in Raku and Perl then concatenate their results together you get the original one :ym_rofl:
Sorry, @niclas, I think I won’t be able to help with that, I just searched for images of m.2 latch. I tried that again and the results come from tech magazines and news aggregators.
is it impossible for movies to have clothes that aren’t brand new? or stop giving everyone eyelash extensions, including children? shits really ruin immersion for me
