Poor Things is like a much, much more accessible The Lobster. It is almost as good as Everything Everywhere All At Once which is an unbelievable compliment. See it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RlbR5N6veqw
@ristkof@u47 well, ok, but the academy awards disagree with you 11 times, so objectively.. uh.. that's let's say a "rare" opinion. ;) I could also cite metacritic, but we're good :)
I don't know if you've read this yet (not the book, the review) but it is an absolute masterpiece of how to deliver a completely devastating, but cordial and factual, takedown. Honestly, the last takedown I saw this powerful was Susan Fowler's blog post on Uber.
@Cmastication it's amazing how being exceptionally kind can completely change the vibe in the "room" of the game. It works. I've done it. Many times. One guy literally asked me if I was a therapist. Maybe I am lol
This graphic novel asks the hard question: is a cult necessarily a bad thing? SPOILER: MOST OF THE TIME YES. But not always. That's the human condition. Strong recommend: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1945509635
@kfanyo@zeh graphic novel has always meant just that, a story told with pictures, like a giant comic book. I'm not aware of "graphic novel" meaning "graphic sex" in my lifetime, at least. That's a bit like saying "adult education center" means.. uh.. sex? like "adult movies"? It's just.. not correct IMO.
