what's the difference between kbin and lemmy? if i go here kbin isn't on the list, so is kbin like it's own thing? still kinda trying to figure this out lol
I'm confused about how I can link Mastodon and Lemmy sites, say. I have an account on Fosstodon. Can I use it to access and post to https://beehaw.org/c/programming for example? I can follow @programming but that's not the same thing? The beehaw site says to search for !programming but this returns nothing (with the ! prefix) on fosstodon. Am I missing something? #lemmy#fediverse#beehaw
This is a situation where you CAN technically do this, but I really wouldn't recommend it. I have separate lemmy and mastodon accounts because accessing lemmy from mastodon is an awful experience.
Can users from Lemmy instances see/interact with Magazines from kbin? If so, what is the proper way to search for one on another instance so it is "discovered"? I can foresee a problem with the same or very similar community being created across several Lemmy instances, all competing for engagement. What's the best way to solve this?
I don't think it's the case that the platform is too confusing for the general public to figure out in any fundamental ways, it's a little buggy right now and needs some UX work, but I think it'll get there.
