  1. Library called me to inform that their book I mislaid while shopping (I fear being bored waiting for a cashier) could be picked up at a nearby store. Whew!
  2. Boy got takeout because I've been out for hours getting exercise so I can sleep better.
  3. Registered for 2024 Pelikan Hub in late September, a fountain pen event which I kept missing for about six years since I heard about it.

  1. Wonderful surprise that hot, crunchy, delicious fried chicken is now within 1.5 miles / 2.4 km of me, 20% off on Saturdays.
  2. Event meetup consisted only of friendly faces, most whom I know. Social anxiety fading as the positive interactions accumulate.
  3. Spent a semi-sunny afternoon with my friend outdoors, no rain and friend was in a creative, friendly, upbeat mood.

  1. Rent-a-handyman replaced a bedroom window screen corner within 10 minutes. Now I can sleep with fresh air and no hornets.
  2. Found a longstanding brainteaser easily. No logsheet so I supplied one.
  3. Mussels with White Wine, Cream and Onion for dinner. gives me such energy.

Clinging onto a day so rattling that each of these is a walk past an open window:

  1. Beautiful sunshine, met up with a friend after a disastrous morning for a walk along a greenway in the big city.
  2. Over-the-border Friends in town over the weekend.
  3. Identified a "Slapstick Diva", and eventually the title, of her film from which a still photograph was uploaded by a cast member's grandmother. Yes, it's a Silent Comedy, my subject of expertise.

  1. Friend shared some episodes of radio documentary "Hollywood Exiles" for me to enjoy, as a favourite of mine is profiled. Favourite's granddaughter presents documentary.
  2. Found on a sunny day in areas doomed to pay parking in a week. Bonus: easy, speedy trip home at 24.15 km/liter fuel economy.

  2. Tomoe River paper in stock at a stationery store. Fourth time visited since I moved here, first time finding it in stock.
  3. Friend met me downtown and we geocached, then with my son we dined at a Japanese restaurant, which none of us had done since before 2020. He drove me home, grateful as I had a heavy bag and was wearing shoes a teeny bit too small.

So good a morning I have already

  1. Bought 12-cup food processor, disks, accessories, manual for $85 CAD. It's a 2014 model but it is the same colour as my KA immersion blender, stand mixer, and mini-chopper and used by a former chef.
  2. Bought from a woman who works as a costumer in the film industry. I could have a personal wardrobe stylist!
  3. on a this morning. Seldom out before 10 am, but the puzzle was a quick solve.

@penfount J. Herbin pen bought while travelling had a scratchy nib that was unusable.
Mnemosyne pen snapped easily at the grip. I glued it back together and it snapped again beyond repair. I don't have a crushing grip and none of my pens, not even Preppys, is that fragile.

@paradoxmo Mine's black (schwarz). Purchased at a discount in Munich, and brought over to North America at no extra cost, so it's a moderate yet cherished luxury for me and I plan to take especial care of it.

  1. Learned how to reverse the slow battery discharge on my while it is plugged into its AC Adapter. I run Linux so finding a good solution isn't instantaneous.

  2. Brought my neurodivergent child to the MLA's office so he'd learn what programs exist for placing people like him in jobs.

  3. Bought the remaining bag of granulated sugar, 2.2kg, on the shelves of nearest supermarket. Workers action at local refinery has made sugar scarce.
