Sometimes around Halloween I’ll play through silent hill. I might do it again this year.

There’s a nightmare on elm street game for nes, and a Friday the 13th as well, iirc. Those might be fun to play.

It’s not so simple and easy to get away from an abusive partner. They often put on a fake persona when meeting a new partner for the first time.

You might not realize how screwed up someone is until some time later, and it’s usually after they’ve sunk their claws into you.

If they’ve managed to work their tactics on people that should be your support network, it makes it even harder to leave and get help. The more skilled someone is at manipulating, the harder it is to see them as they truly are.

This woman didn’t deserve to die, and the husband is clearly a threat to society if he kills someone over a TV show.

What kind of upbringing makes an incel?

Something I’ve always wondered is what kind of women were in the lives of incel men when they were young. Did they have a bad relationship with their mother? Did they lack sisters or other female family members? Or is their family situation irrelevant? Maybe some particular situation in their early years caused them to develop...

A man can become incel for a variety of reasons. Experiences with peers, parents divorcing, and so on.

At one point I think I could’ve ended up an incel but strangely enough being a lone wolf and having the Internet to access stopped me whereas for others they continued down that path.

From being a lone wolf type I never really dip too much into other people’s crap. And having a resource like the web allowed me to learn multiple perspectives.

If incel and simp were on a continuum, I’d prefer to be somewhere in the middle. Don’t want to sit rage and whine about what’s unfair in regards to romance, etc and go off the deep end but I certainly don’t want to be a doormat either. Life keeps teaching me that moderation is key, time and time again.

As I’ve gotten older, I realized my true issue is with narcissists and narcissism. And that’s something that knows no gender, nationality, etc.

If there’s anything I’d want built in more than anything it would be vertical tabs like what the existing sideberry extension provides. I also use Vivaldi which has it native, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Edit: and tab manager plus. Same functionality and interface but native.

The existing extensions are fine, but if they are wanting to add things already provided by a third party, those two are my must haves for a modern browsing experience.

That’s true. Like a nuclear detonation, I’d rather be at ground zero and vaporized instantly than further away and slowly die from radiation and other issues stemming from that.

i liked reading discussions and learning things from lurking reddit but never felt compelled to participate in discussions. now that i got my lemmy account figured out my desire to be on there is even less.

for some reason i actually want to be a part of the fediverse community. maybe it rekindles some of that old internet spirit for me.

reddit certainly had a plethora of communities. the fediverse can get there too.

it’s going to be more hands on than reddit. we can’t wait for things to come to us like products on a conveyor belt. the content is in the discussions.

as long as people continue to participate, it will grow. stay positive.

reddit is transforming itself from a social media platform into a history lesson at this point. I’d say don’t feel guilty if you still browse reddit at all, but don’t be shocked when it’s gone either.

the attitude and behavior of the company towards the community is what’s going to finish it off more than anything.

there’s so other ways they could’ve monetized reddit without causing all this, but they seem hell bent on being obtuse. to that, i shrug and move on.
