dandroid,

I have played both, and I enjoyed both.

dandroid,

I think it’s fine for kids younger than teenagers. Maybe around 8 and up. By the time they are teenagers, most kids are watching anything and everything, included R-rated movies.

dandroid,

Korben my man. I-I-I-I have no fire.

dandroid,

I just own an adapter that has a headphone jack port and a charging port.

dandroid,

Poor Gen Xers still don’t exist.

dandroid,

I am a younger millennial, and I’ve literally never heard of a boomerang in this context in my life.

dandroid,

I love Linux and KDE Plasma, but my biggest complaint is the inconsistent UIs. Specifically the frames. If I have 5 windows all maximized, and I want to minimize a few of them, the frames could all be different thicknesses, or the minimize, maximize, and close buttons could all be different sizes from the other windows, causing you to need to move your mouse around to minimize each window. On Mac or Windows, you can hover the one spot and spam click, because you know every window will have the minimize button in the exact same spot.

dandroid,

WiFi isn’t free. And Idk about you, but where I live the internet service providers are the same as cell providers. I have AT&T for internet, for example. So they still get the money.

dandroid,

That depends. Where I used to live, Comcast had a monopoly and a data cap.

dandroid,

My sister stayed at my place when she was in town for an event. At one point I heard her alarm going off for an hour before stopping. She woke up an hour later and was like, “my alarm never went off! I’m so late!”

dandroid,

At the time, I thought the Sun chips bag situation was hilarious. If I think back on it now, it’s really sad. Yes, the bag was significantly louder than the original bag. But I feel like we’re going to need to make some sacrifices as a society for the environment. And that seems like a really, really tiny sacrifice.

dandroid,

The last time I paid for a Windows license was around 2012. I bought a Windows 8 Pro license for $40. I have been using the same one ever since, and it has never given me an issue. I even used it on a few friends’ PCs.

My laptop is Linux, but my desktop is still Windows 10. My work laptop is Windows 11, and I even used Windows 11 on my desktop for about 6 months before I decided to wipe it and go back to 10. I have given Windows 11 a very fair chance, but when Windows 10 goes EOL, I will be migrating my desktop to Linux as well.

I just find things like modding games much easier with Windows rather than having to jump through a bunch of hoops to get them working in proton. Hopefully they can improve that in the next year before I switch.

dandroid,

I will now urge Microsoft to suck my balls.

dandroid,

I used Linux at my old job, which was a start-up with no IT. But at my current job, which is a massive tech corporation with overbearing IT, they require us to use Windows. :(

Though I don’t have an option to use a local account on my work laptop anyway.

dandroid,

This is not true in my experience. My current employer requires us to use Windows.

dandroid,

What’s that song about Grandma getting run over by a reindeer?

dandroid,

I mostly work with people who learned to speak English in India, and most of them say line-ux or lean-ux. I always assumed it was an accent thing. Though there are a million distinct accents in India, and I’m not really well educated on them, so I’m sort of guessing.

dandroid,

When I was like 13 and was learning to play guitar, I learned sooo many songs by Avenged Sevenfold. And then I saw pictures of them playing concerts with the confederate flag, and even had custom confederate flag guitars. I lived a pretty sheltered life and didn’t quite understand how big of a deal that was at the time, but it definitely felt a little gross to me. I slowly stopped listening to them.

They did eventually come out and say that they regret doing that, for what it’s worth. But I never went back to listening to them.

dandroid,

The song 1985 was not originally recorded by Bowling for Soup, but SR-71

dandroid,

I have started pirating heavily again after years of not doing it. I set up a VPN container and a qbittorrent container that shares the VPN container’s network, so VPN is always running for qbittorrent, but it isn’t affecting the rest of my server. Then I log into a webpage on my local network and download whatever I want. The volume mount I chose for the download directory is my Plex directory, so it automatically gets put on Plex.

It’s honestly easier to pirate than to search for which streaming service something is on. When I pirate, everything is in the same place.

dandroid,

I have a some variety of scratcher on every corner of the couch. I have some rope ones, carpet ones, a low one. My cat really just prefers to scratch the couch. Any attempt to persuade her to scratch the scratchers, she sees as a fun game and scratches the couch more.

dandroid,

I once was at a social gathering where two vegans were arguing about who was more vegan. It was exhausting.

dandroid,

My cat loves being picked up, so she would do it again for that alone.
