I love seeing screenshots of Pantheon in non-Roman character using languages. It makes me really proud of our amazing volunteers who work on localization, especially
Ryo Nakano who has done so much to make sure everything is properly localizable and has fixed our improper gettext usage many times

I saw a screenshot from @bobby285271 and it just made me think that if we didn’t care about localization, would Pantheon be available for Nix users? Investing in things like localization and accessibility are often looked at as extras by organizations but those investments are fundamental to reaching more people and being more useful

Basically, if we didn’t care about localizing Pantheon and we didn’t care about CJK language support specifically, then @wimpy probably wouldn’t be running Pantheon right now haha. It’s all intertwined

    So @danirabbit posted wallpapers, one of them was of foot prints going into the dunes (at the beach)

    Having grown up close to the beach, and spent many summer days there, I could almost feel the wind and sand and taste and smell the air. And like a song can get stuck in your head, its almost like this impression is right now. I REALLY want to go to the west coast right now... Maybe I will get the blue Cold Hawaii beer, that one sort of tastes like west coast

    @mattdm I saw someone point out once that this sticks out less when you’re around people who are drinking so they won’t bug you. I have a number of sober friends these days and for some of them even NA beer is too much of a temptation so having NA options that help them blend in is something they appreciate

    It used to be that I posted a selfie and nobody gave a shit. I’d maybe get a couple likes. Now I’m used to get a certain amount of likes and comments and it’s kind of a problem, because if I post something and it doesn’t “perform” then I start thinking like “Did I look fat? Is it because my boobs are small? I shouldn’t post photos without makeup”. It’s dangerous. I can’t expect every photo to do numbers. I’m a person not a brand.

    @Willow yeah I always have to remember, brain is optimized for protection not happiness. These are thoughts designed to keep me safe, to avoid pain from rejection or criticism. Brain is doing its best, but we don’t need to always be so vigilant

    @KekunPlazas haha I usually try to break up tasks into smaller steps that are less overwhelming. “Take care of the giant pile” is too big of a task. But “sort the shredding out of the pile” is manageable. “Shred the new pile” I can do. I’m just doing 1 5 minute task at a time until the hour long project is suddenly done
