Ruh roh, the hashtag police are out, hide yo hashtags!!

While Pixelfed has a max hashtag limit of 60 per post, a majority of posts contain less than half that

I checked the reported account and the hashtags they use are related, and the account has thousands of (legit) followers so who am I to play hashtag god??

If you get offended by the # or context of hashtags, maybe they aren't the problem 😬

@grishka The VPS (Droplets) they offer and the other services are priced accordingly.

I've never had any issues hosting pixelfed.social for over 6 years on the same droplet, that level of service/platform stability does come with a premium.

I'd be hesitant to use a service hosted by the cheapest provider 😉

I'm a bit frustrated with Android at the moment, I've spent hours tonight trying to upgrade the Pixelfed app to the latest RN version (and the tons of deps we use)

Stop platform hate, create or collaborate

The isn't perfect, it's the best solution we have

You can make a difference, simply by participating in a project/platform and suggesting ideas or reporting bugs

You don't need to know how to code to make this place better, but if you want to make a bigger impact, it does help

We need to stop shitting on fedi platforms like Mastodon and see the fediverse as the competitor to centralized social platforms

Between Pixelfed, Groups, Loops, PubKit and Sup, I'm struggling to meet my self-imposed deadlines to a degree that I'm delaying several journalist interviews

I was planning on working on Loops tonight, however I noticed our Pixelfed TestFlight build expires in 13 days so I had to jump back to the Pixelfed app, and now I'm working on Push Notification support

It's not a big deal really tho, I work better under pressure and love these challenges

    according to the GitHub issue (https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed/pull/4968) it was resolved, but i still don't have the option to migrate away from pixelfed.social in my profile settings.

    @dansup I'm planning to start a project for an open source set of JS tools for image and video editing (WebGL color filters, video trimming and multi-track editing) as well as AR effects similar to snapchat lenses.

    I think this would be a great fit for the @pixelfed web app. What do you think?

    Is the "counter" for setting limits on how many likes/favorites/hearts can be used at the Admin level?

    Is this something each instance can set on their own? Or is this part of the main pixelfed code?

    I ask because after 2 hours use today, I am already out of likes ... and must wait till the time limit passes.

    As an active daily user, this is increasingly an issue. Is another instance or hosting my own instance a solution?

    @Unatributed Good point, perhaps we could just do a two step form where user enters the email then we open a web browser to the instance where they enter their password (with pre-filled email using url params).

    I'm still hoping you consider my offer, and hope you understand that me delaying was because I want to get something ready and working, thats actually worth your time, ready, before we moved forward.
