@surma @jaffathecake @rauschma the signals proposal is very encouraging even though half baked. It looks as if though it is meant for frameworks. I feel it should be a trivial api via which browsers allow state manipulation so that gradually we can wean off frameworks.

Fallout 1 Game on MacBook Air M2

I installed Fallout 1 on my MacBook Air M2 via wine version 9.

However when I run it I get the following exception, that shows it tries to check if another instance is running or not and fails.

'Microsoft.VisualBasic.ApplicationServices.CantStartSingleInstanceException'

Any Wine experienced gamers out there who can help?

You know how some people put "5 minute read", "3 minute read", etc. next to blog posts? Would be fascinating to see that applied next to links to privacy policies and terms of service.

My site's would be a 2-minute read. Google's primary ToS would be a 14-minute read. Paypal's would be a 97-minute read.

So I jumped into and it's exceptional so far.

I find myself wanting to savour it. The more it progresses the more I don't want it to end.

I haven't read the book, but in a way I don't know the spoilers so it is pretty good.

Redoing a popular, yet largely unmaintained side project of mine and going all in on finding a nice component library to settle down with and raise a site together. Thinking of going with NextUI. They seem stable, but just the right level of branding compatibility to not spend forever tying to fix them for me.

@me my 2 cents worth is I try not to stick to one as they have their own teething issues.

I would rather look for an individual component than a whole library.

For layouts and containers I used rebase.js for a long time.

I think I stumbled into an issue where a compiler is hallucinating and breaking the types of the source it’s trying to simplify. Has anyone had any experience with this, especially with Webpack?

@me I used to use webpack years ago.

Recently I have used vite, and feel I don't need to use bundlers individually, it used to be too much work.
