Boring. We all know what a shit show it is. This guy is a little late. I wish it would just die and Melon would fly away to Mars. I’m sick of hearing about it.
I’ve seen a few different replies on various posts that, while different, all repeat nearly identical sentiments about having to “purge” fascists with violence, for the good of humanity or whatever. I don’t think they’re bots, probably paid trolls. I believe the goal is to push a violent agenda, at least the appearance of one, in leftist communities.
It’s weird to me how no one is talking about how it has a strong and blatant anti-capitalist message. Without getting into spoilers, the ending really drives it home. I’m surprised right-wing dickheads aren’t screeching about it.
Here in the UK, you can literally buy a decent used car for the price of a new ebike. With prices like this, and poor bike infrastructure, they will never be seen as anything other than a curiousity.
Most people are aware. They are also aware of dealing with inclement weather, especially in most of the UK where it rains a lot. The weather here in Scotland is miserable most of the year. Cold, wet, and windy. Many feel the extra cost is worth it. I’m not saying whether any of this is good or bad, I’m just pointing out the reality.
One of the reasons I stopped riding a bike is because I didn’t want to die in traffic. People can go on about how awesome bikes are but I really don’t want to die on the front of the grill of some careless lorry driver.
Not one of his better articles. A lot of prevaricating with very little substance or conclusions. While AI investment is most certainly a bubble, few are taking into account the technology improving. This is a bone the tech dogs aren’t going to give up easily. They have a whiff of the possibility of AIG becoming a reality. Like all promising tech, the potential for long term damage is as, if not more so, catastrophic for society as the World Wide Web and social media. He’s looking at this as an echo of past Silicone Valley bubbles. It so much more than that.

The problem is that people with those disorders are the ones most likely to be the abusers. They are also the least likely to seek out help. There’s a reason it’s called “The Dark Triad”.
This was my exact thought. This seems like someone trying to excuse this shit. You can dress it up as just a personality disorder, but these personality types are toxic.
I read the first book back in the 00s. This was just before everyone was making these epic, high production TV series. Even so, my first thought was, this would do well as an HBO/Showtime/cable series. My second thought was, I’m not going to bother reading any of the other books. Too many characters that I not only didn’t like, but could keep track of. Having a different chapter for each character, and jumping back and forth, not for me.
It’s a scam for artists. They make a pittance. Meanwhile, Spotify is raking it in. It may be an amazing deal for you, but musicians are making nothing from it.
