deadbeef79000,

Not from the USA.

Doesn’t the 1st apply to federal congress? Does it filter down to state legislatures?

deadbeef79000,

I even kept switching the roles while watching it. Such an odd case where two actors were ideal for the opposite role.

glances at Face Off.

deadbeef79000,

Repression of the citizens and projection of power externally?

deadbeef79000,

It’s sad. Like watching a sibling turn into Alex in A Clockwork Orange.

deadbeef79000,

Reasonably sure this is what the 2nd Amendment is for.

deadbeef79000,

Nah, just a giant compiled binary blob. That’s what all the cool hackers do these days.

deadbeef79000,

Poor dude can’t even hear himself talk.

deadbeef79000,

Like all headlines that ask a question the answer is “no”, other wise the headline would state that fact.

deadbeef79000,

Sometines yeah, but all headline questions are pure click bait.

“Minister’s claims of imported Indonesian coal false” is the appropriate headline.

I’d even argue that the country of origin is irrelevant and serves only to stoke some anti-asia sentiment.

deadbeef79000,

A very important distinction. TYVM.

deadbeef79000,

Thank you for that detail. I was aware that coal’s qualities differ from region to region (hence Huntly not burning NZ coal). But was ignorant of what regions’ qualities are.

In that context yeah, country or origin is an effective short-hand.

deadbeef79000,

Juice them and freeze the juice as ice cubes, then bag them, store in deep freezer.

Then you have delicious lemon juice ready at your finger tips for ever and ever.

deadbeef79000,

Attacking farmers is never the right answer. Imagine attacking your own food supply. How pathetic.

My country produces enough food for our own population eight-fold. So fuck the 7/8 farmers that are fucking our environment over for a dollar.

deadbeef79000,

It is a five-minute-long video projection, which highlights the differences between te Tiriti in te reo Māori and Captain William Hobson’s 1840 English version.

Well, Te Papa could start by not perpetuating the myth of an original English treaty. There isn’t one, there are only drafted partials by Hobson and Busby.

The Treaty is only the Te Reo document written (translated from the partial drafts) overnight by Williams & son and its translation back to English.

deadbeef79000,

If only we treated the treaty with similar (but tempered) venerance as the USA does it’s Constitution.

deadbeef79000,

The Landsraad has a sort of Mutually Assured Destruction pact. Any house that uses atomic weapons against another house would be immediately destroyed by all other houses. Paul uses atomics to breach the Shield Wall technically against a feature of the planet, not house Harkonnen, so there’s still political subtlety there.

Lasgun-shield interaction is indistinguishable from atomic weapons.

So deployment of this kind of weapon will ensure your own annihilation.

From memory, the lasgun-shield explosion is unpredictable and proportional to the size of the shield. So, a personal shield could produce a relatively small explosion, a house shield would produce a cataclysmic explosion.

deadbeef79000,

Our anywhere along the beam IIRC.

deadbeef79000,

Five cats in a trenchcoat with a severed hand.

Check.

deadbeef79000,

Ooh, how are they linked?

deadbeef79000,

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade_Runner

Screen capture of DVD bonus feature from Prometheus (2012), a dictated letter by Peter Weyland about Eldon Tyrell, chief executive officer of the Tyrell Corporation

So, Prometheus establishes Tyrell Corporation and Weyland-Yutani as competitors! Neat.

deadbeef79000,

The colony thing is in the text into for blade runner, from memory.

Replicants were made to work on the colonies.

Is the season after the reboot (after season 7) worth watching ?

Do they still have many highly intelligent and over qualified people working on it to make wacky science plots/theories/jokes ? How good is the show nowadys anyway ? Does it still hold that standard ? Been a hot minute since i last watched also i am talking about hulu reboot to avoid future confusion as one person asked me in...

deadbeef79000,

The Hulu season has plenty of patches! It has more patches than a quilt!

deadbeef79000,

Well we gave up because we have to fund tax cuts for the rich somehow.

/S

deadbeef79000,

Hmm, yes. Ambiguous.

Tone rather than content. SpongeBob capitalisation it too hard on a mobile.
