I only watched ep1 so far and I really liked how close it is to the games.
But while a game can still be awesome even if the main story is meh (Fallout 3 comes to mind), this doesn't work on TV. The "hey awesome I know this Supermutant" effect will fade out soon.
So I guess you don't like the story?

Haha that sounds like me and Katatonia. I like how everything sounds, they are masters of their instruments and their albums are really well produced.

I just don't find their music interesting.

Over the last days I listened a lot to King Gizzard & The Lizar Wizard's "PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation", my AOTY2023.

The sequence of the songs "Witchcraft", "Gila Monster" and "Dragon" is 10/10, simply perfect.

Hm... this is very interesting.

It sounds like if you throw Katatonia, TesseracT, some metalcore band and heavy metal band (maybe Accept?) into a blender.

I'd call it "djenty heavy prog core metal"

Not for me though, but I think @thomas and @vanessawynn might enjoy it.

µVerdict on Call Me What You Want by Night Laser:

Some solid hair/glam/sleaze metal! Enjoyable, nice vocals and nice riffs.

2.5 out of 5 solid, but I probably won't pick it up again.

Except for the 9 minute closing track, which is also the bast song on the album:

Finally, with my third approach to get into this game i made it through #MassEffect and now i can't wait to get into the second game. It starts really slow and the gameplay is quite aged (the game is originally from 2007), but what a great story! :-)
