A story:

Wifey and I walk into a doctors office. When I sat down first (she’s parking), I get only mild looks from the older folks here… I make a joke about not knowing what to do and have a seat.

When wifey arrives and sits down?! Stares. All of them. Silence.

I guess this is their first experience seeing lesbians in the wild?!

@britt @craftykraken I think quite a lot of people only know lesbians from certain types of movies (wink wink nudge nudge). Given that, I don't think they know what to expect when encountering them in public.

So my Psych is doubling my med dose (hooray!) and the medication also helps my symptoms (vasoconstriction).. I’m looking forward to monitoring how my body responds. Fingers crossed!

MRI complete!!

I’m so proud of myself. The last time I had one of these (3 years ago) I didn’t have the tools or the know how to help with my sensory sensitivities. It was brutal.

(FWIW, I’ve had about 15 in my life for various health reasons)

The tech who helped was a patient and kind rockstar.
I got her bosses phone number so I can spread some gratefulness. 🥰

@britt Glad to hear you made it through.

I have a moderate amount of claustrophobia. MRI's make it more pronounced because my wide shoulders always rub the sides making it feel as though I'm wedged in the machine with no way to get out.

Some philosophical thoughts regarding language and communication:

Language matters.
The way we describe what’s happening in this world matters.

But please, I beg of you… don’t get caught up in sensationalism.

Using sensational language (or engaging with it) only reduces the accuracy of our words and washes away truth.

When we actually need those words to mean what they truly mean… they may be lost.

Once again, hats off to C people because programming solely inside of a Macro is a fucking awful experience. I have no idea how you all keep doing this and making software that doesn't continually and perpetually snap in half.
