Real question? (lemmy.world)
Thanks for the app. Alternatives/forks?
Thanks for the app! Just starting with lemmy. Are there any alternatives etc.? I liked the Infinity reddit app particularly.
Know what I don't miss from reddit? Every other post with "1 comment" but it's just fricking automoderator
Thats not 1 comment, that's 0 comments.
Why do we have a setting to turn off precision location if apps refuse to work with it?
Like why have the toggle in the first place if apps can detect it? Doesn't letting apps know about it defeat the whole purpose?
This was probably the style they were going for but... this bothers me :/ (lemmy.world)
What happens to downvotes when instances have different policies?
My instance has downvoting enabled, but I've learned that some other instances do not. Do the vote totals look different to users on different instances? It seems like some users on instances that don't allow downvoting are unaware that it's not the same lemmy-wide. It would be pretty confusing for them to see their vote go...
The pawns have revolted and formed an anarchist commune. What should I do in this position? (I'm white) (sopuli.xyz)
You shouldn't be able to add people as mod without permission
Atm, you can add anyone as mod to a community without permission. This is bad because you could add someone as mod to a questionable community to make them look bad

feature request: viewing user profiles
You can't view user profiles atm
feature request: more post view modes
At some point, more post view modes (like the jerboa ones) should be added. At the moment the ui is super different to jerboa and reddit.
will moderation features be added to jerboa?
If you moderate a subLemmy you have to use the web app because jerboa has no support for mod actions. I don't currently moderate, but I might and would like to know if mod features will be added.
Reddit: open /r/pics or else. Mods: OK but you didn't say how (old.reddit.com)
I honestly don't know if this is allowed here but I thought this is malicious compliance at its finest....
Proposal how to write links to communities in lemmy
Hopefully in future lemmy autotranslates links for us, but meanwhile I suggest the following method....
GitHub - Thunder - An open-source cross-platform Lemmy client for iOS and Android built with Flutter (github.com)
A new Lemmy app has arrived on the F-Droid app store.
I’m working on a new mobile Lemmy client for iOS and android (vlemmy.net)
Crosspost from !morpha...
Early Alpha Release! (github.com)
Just wanted to announce that an early alpha build of Thunder has been released on GitHub!...
Ability of seeing the url before opening a hyperlink.
I think it's an important feature for the user's safety. In Boost and many other applications, you can see the full url by holding your finger on a hyperlink. This however does not work on jerboa. I'd be thankful if you could add this feature as I feel stressed whenever I tap on a link that I might get rickrolled.
What should I do in this position? (I've never moderated a community before) (sopuli.xyz)
Thanks tho, I'm glad my favourite community made it to lemmy
