โ€œIf a woman is vocal and decisive, she risks being called aggressive and difficult, while men are lauded for their passion and fire in the belly,โ€ Vergeire said.
Ahhhhh. At the end of the day, the root cause is still sexism. Hay

The covid-19 pandemic forced us to rethink how clean indoor air should be, putting us on the cusp of a possible ventilation revolution.โ€

COVID's future: mini-waves rather than seasonal surges

"Wavelets donโ€™t always create a dramatic spike in hospitalizations and deaths; their effects on health vary between countries. But the relentless series of wavelets looks very different from the slower, annual circulation patterns of influenza and cold-causing coronaviruses, and it seems increasingly unlikely that SARS-CoV-2 will settle into a flu-like rhythm anytime soon, say scientists." https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-023-01437-8 @novid

โ€œThe WHO is supposed to be the lead global institution for health but was lacking in terms of ensuring and implementing an adequate and appropriate COVID-19 response worldwide. Instead of leading, it passed the reins of pandemic vaccine response to influential private institutions that are among the major sources of WHO funding: the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Gavi the Vaccine Alliance, and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI).โ€

If one reads the article, this is no โ€œmask mandateโ€.

This is the usual wearing of mask โ€œremindersโ€ by our government. Which tbh, doesnโ€™t really work anymore. True mask mandates on public transport is what we need.

Previous infection linked to lower brain oxygen levels, cognitive problems: study
In a new Canadian study, researchers found that not only did participants who previously had COVID-19 perform worse on two specific cognitive tasks, but brain imaging showed that during these tasks, there was a lack of oxygen reaching the sections of the brain that would normally be fully engaged. @novid
