The best thing I did in my journey was to become friends with lots of writers who followed the path. I followed their marketing path as closely as I could. I wasn't able to match their promotions budget, but their publishers did things on their behalf that anyone can do.

Still learning but, that one trick continues to pay dividends.

I feel like America has finally passed the bowel obstruction that was 9/11. It took 23 years to process and work it's way through our system. It poisoned our politics, destroyed our media, set the stage for Trump, and left the world wide open to a deadly pandemic.

It showed what horrible people Americans can be when we're grieving, fearful, and ignorant.

Bin Laden succeeded in damaging the country he hated. Putin tried to finish the job.

About once a month I wake between 1:00 and 2:00AM and have no luck falling back to sleep. I accept that I'm going to be awake for about two hours per past experience. Then I fall back to sleep around 4.

It's like my body's leap year.

I end up sleeping a little later and have a slightly draggy day. Then my normal sleep schedule resumes. It is not altogether unpleasant.
