It’s my goddamn motherfucking mobile data and MY PHONE. I should be able to use it however I want. My wifi went down because the greedy, cunt-faced shitbags at Comcast stole taxpayer subsidies to enrich themselves instead of actually providing the service we’re paying for. I tried to switch to a mobile hotspot and my phone...
I got bitten by the bug years ago when I had to get a bass amp repaired under warranty. The closest place turned out to be a bunch of guys that their main business was fixing Hammond’s, Wurlis, and other vintage gear. They let me try out everything in the shop! I had no clue how to play anything, but twisting so the knobs and...
I can only see this going into a very dystopian path. Based on their actions, I don’t trust these companies, their security practices, nor their privacy policies. Why would I give them my biometrics? And my full palm, at that!? Hell no!
Its meant to save you a step. Before at whole foods you had to get out your phone, open the amazon app, scan your prime QR code, then get a card and pay. This just does all that with an enrolled palm.
I still don’t trust it. I laughed at it when I saw it and even the clerk admitted it was dumb.
Yea the main downside is the car is a dog on the straights so if it isn’t a circuit where you can pass on the corners, the car needs clean air to go fast. Thankfully McLaren has good enough strategy to maneuver around that problem.
What harm does public data have to you? Couldn’t one just ignore the ads? You can’t see anyone watching you, is public data good for public records? (I’m just curious). I know this sounds weird but is public data good for historical preservation and knowledge increasing the importance of the individual? And does public...
For me, it is about removing an attack vector crazy people might use. We live in a time where people can seek revenge for the pettiest things. In thepastt, I had gotten into an argument on reddit over something harmless and they doxxed me and sent a warning to my house. I deleted everything and overhauled my privacy.
I honestly had a worse opinion of him after that Beyond the Grid episode. I appreciated how level headed and logical he was, but he also made a bunch of excuses. When they asked him about the 100 races the first thing he did was move the goalpost. I hate to say it but the dude just isn’t cut throat enough to be an F1 TP. I would love to see him in a different series though. I think with the right drivers his level headed approach would work.
This is the way. I’m basically only online at work now. Once I’m home I just smoke a bowl and relax offline. I’ve been making music a bunch lately and going on photo walks. I used to play video games to pass the time but even those are awful now.
Still a forever ‘no’ for me. Anyone taking over for him tolerates him , and who is to say if he is only symbolically step down and will still run things behind the scenes?
Thankfully we are spoiled for choice on security oriented ROMs these days and nearly everything will run on a Pixel. No need to use a ROM created by someone so toxic they put their projects in jeopardy.
Some people have made eating meat and making fun of vegans their entire personality. They buy things and spend time posting on social media about it. It is basically their hobby. Really sad, honestly.
Damn an extortionate amount of energy, resources, and freshwater? Good thing all those cows and chickens don’t need any of those to put them through an entire life cycle before we eat them.
When the fuck did a mobile hotspot become something you have to pay extra for?

I've noticed that lemmy as a whole is much more leftist than reddit (outside of political servers of course)
I can’t really think of a reason for that as Reddit is hated somewhat equally by “both” sides of the spectrum. It’s just something I find interesting.
