A friend of mine who is a massive geek is mystified that I consider "The Rise of Skywalker" to be the best of the third trilogy. He considered it the worst.

To me at least, it's the SW movie that, aside from Empire, worked best for me on an emotional level. The ending was so poignant.

So I'll double down and say that Rise of Skywalker is not just a great Star Wars film, but a great film overall.

@limebar @synths @modularsynth @experimentalmusic @eurorack Yeah you can tune specific effects to a given layer. In this case I set the one layer to 'exclusion', which inverts light and dark. Really interesting stuff.

@modularsynth @experimentalmusic @synths @eurorack Yup! The Arbhar recorded my breathing at some point and started adding grains of that into the mix. I must have activated a mode in which the internal mic continuously records and then loops and modifies the audio. I was wondering why I sounded so weird. And why it was so asynchronous. 😂

"Well, nuts...I had, or thought I had set up a scheduled post to go off at the same time the information hit Twitter, but apparently it didn't stick. My apologies. To recap:
There’s a brand new, original BABYLON 5 ANIMATED MOVIE coming out soon from Warner Bros. Animation & WB Home Entertainment! It’s classic B5: raucous, heartfelt, nonstop, a ton of fun through time and space & a love letter to the fans. To be clear, since there’s been some ambiguity, the movie is already done and finished and in the can. So it's 100% real, happening, and coming out very soon.
I'm ridiculously excited about the because it feels the most B5-ish of anything we've done since the original show. Warners was terrific in giving me the freedom to write the story I wanted, and the animation is phenomenal. It's fun, deep, emotional, classic B5.
Full release details, including cast, title, when, where and how it will be available, and other info will come next week from Warners. Best of all, if this does well there will be more animated movies, maybe on a regular basis. (And this has no bearing on the other the reimagined B5 live-action series, which is currently on hold pending the resolution of the Writers Strike.)"

During my recent multi-week camping adventure, I allowed myself ONE synth.

It was the ASM Hydrasynth. Why? (I don't actually hear you ask...)

Well, it's terribly powerful and I rarely use it. Maybe I don't KNOW it well enough? What magic is lurking in those digitally aliased cracks and crevasses?

So I spent 3 weeks alone with the Hydra and this is the first thing I created with it...

Another suggestion from Apple Music today, these are a “fuzzed out Norwegian psych rock trio”, but more importantly (and probably the reason why they were recommended to me) Hedvig Mollestad [3] plays on the second track.

First impressions of my new modules after a couple days of random knob twisting and not much manual reading (I like to familiarize myself with a module as much as I can before diving into the manual - I get a lot more out of the manuals this way).

  1. Joranologue Orbit 3 - Love at first patch. A wild chaos generator that functions at both CV and audio levels. Many patch points for modulation. This module fits my workflow and aesthetics like a glove.

  1. Intellijel Quadrax (plus expansion) - It's not a Maths killer, but wow, this thing is a lot more intuitive to use. I've been short on envelope generators and LFOs in general, so this will definitely see a lot of use. I can't imagine using it without the expansion - having triggers for EOR and EOF for each channel is amazing!

Instruo Arbhar - Been lusting after this for soooo long! Now it's mine! All mine! MUHAHAHA! No immediate payoff like Beads, however. Requires some fiddling to get it to sound good. Had to crack the manual in order to grok its many functions. The more familiar I get with it, the cooler it becomes. Very deep. Lack of stereo inputs is a drag, but at least I get stereo reverb output via some switches on the back. An unexpected slow burn, but definitely a keeper.

So I managed to get the Eowave 7U case working after all, and the guys at Cicada Sound were cool with selling it to me at a discount. So now I have two 7U 104HP cases. 😁😁😁

Here's a pic of the current setup at Casa Nazgul.

Now I just have to get a bunch of blanks to fill those gaps (or more modules 💰 -> 🔥). 🤪
