Yesterday's gig was a blast. I hadn't played on stage for about nine years, and only after I finished did I realize that it was actually my debut as Sitka.
I recorded my set, so I'll upload it a little later
Okay, it's time. Time to change servers. Time to have local & federated timelines that don't make my eyes bleed. Time to support an indie effort.
Does anyone want to share about their server? My main interests are #Music - I play #Eurorack#Synth, #Guitar, #ChapmanStick, and software, with varying degrees of skill - and #Mathematics - I'm attempting to get into grad school for #Math to facilitate a career change. I'm also liberal af, if that matters one way or the other on your server.
To the handful of people who invent #modular#eurorack#synthesis modules: PLEASE, for the love of all that is holy, include an "Examples of how to use this thing" in your documentation (which appears to be geared to other electrical engineers).
This is what some of your fellow inventors do for the software they devise, that would be otherwise incomprehensible.
However, it appears it is both a) one of those fake random-letter brands, and b) no longer available in the US. I need the name-brand version of this thing basically so I don't fry my instrument, and I need something with a DC barrel AND that can be set to exactly 13v. Any thoughts?
Eurorack DIY kits from #meebilt arrived today plus a little extra! Looking forward to assemble them. Thanks a lot! Make sure to check out his Youtube. He sells some kits on Tindie and I think all the modules are on Github as well. #eurorack#synthdiy@synthdiy#modular#synthesizer
Hey, wanna see a weird digital/analog art computer come into existence? I'm working on the #ObliqueEasel and its analog #eurorack IO board, the #ObliquePalette over on my Patreon!
I'm tired of computers designed for businesses to more efficiently extract labor. I want computers designed to make art!
Fill your (touch)screen with plugdata (https://plugdata.org) and control real world things! Make your plugdata patches respond to things happening in the real world!
I finally started a #Eurorack setup. I think I’m going to design some simple utility modules first to get me going. Any other diy modules that you can recommend? #synthesizers#modular#synthdiy@synthdiy
Well, #BandcampFriday started out well for me! Got a sale of Metaphysical Shitposting in the first hour to kick off this most special of days. Thanks, benefactor! I appreciate you!
Now...who's next? Chock full of wild #experimental instruments, techniques and concepts; #Eurorack#modular madness; gritty #CassetteTape textures; and uncountable references to drugs, cosmic horror, mysticism and other #HighWeirdness
I got nonlinearcircuits - Fourier Panel+PCB as a birthday gift from my brother in February. Since then I've done a little 0805 surface mounted soldering (zlob - mineq and MTM - pulses (or was it volts?)) And it wasn't that bad and both modules worked on the first try.
Yesterday, I finally mustered up the courage to start working on this beast. All 10k:s done in the resistor matrix so far! One small fuck up that I fixed easily otherwise I think it's going pretty well. It's still scary though.
#eurorack sale 😁
Figured I’d post these here before I go to modwiggler and then reverb, fedi gets first crack :)
First up, Mac Salad. It’s a clone of Cold Mac, with a couple extra features. A big mishmash of VCAs, utilities, voltage manglers, and a couple other things, all connected such that they can be easily used separately or in combination with one another. Hard to describe briefly, I’ve written more here: https://github.com/jepyang/Mac-Salad-v1.1-deprecated/tree/main
@synths Voltage-controlled LFO. Another one of my own design. It’s pretty simple. Square and triangle output, one knob for freq, a jack to control freq with CV, and an attenuator for that jack.
This is an early revision with kinda awkward control placement: the two knobs and the input jack are tightly packed. Also note the triangle output is not a perfect triangle: it’s got a bit of a log curve to it, and the rise/fall time are not perfectly balanced.
