The controversial beast in all its glory #RaspberryPi5

The back of the Pi 5 USB Type C power supply. It has a getting started link for some reason and lists features as: 100 to 240 volts, 60 hertz input and USB Power Delivery output providing 5.1 volts at 5 amps DC. It can also provide 9 volts at 3 amps, 12 volts at 2.25 amps and 25 volts at 1.8 amps. It supports a total of 27 watts maximum output power. A “white” label on the back suggests there might be a black colour variant available in the future.

Air fryer has really upped my lunches game. Can bash out a “cook for 40 minutes” frozen chicken doodad in a third that time, chuck it in a wrap and garnish with a homemade cabbage and carrot slaw. A bit of careful meat thermometer application to ensure I don’t poison myself or totally dry the darn food out 🤣

Why are wifi routers all so dumb? Where are the normal good ones? Between the £1000+ wifi 7 nonsense, the £400 “gaming” routers that look like dead spiders and the low-end consumer garbage that can’t handle more than two devices… there’s got to be something ~£150 that’s actually good and doesn’t pop up a chuffing cloud login box every time I try to change a setting 🫠

Bought some foam board to create a window whatsit for the EcoFlow Wave 2. Stopped short of cutting holes in the blinds … had to board up the window. Hopefully won’t have a repeat of last year where the glazing got… hot… from insulating on the inside.

Here's the image I posted of the RETRON Sq with the original alt text, plus a separate image generated by running that alt text through some AI tomfoolery. Does this imply that the alt text is good, or does it imply that it's insufficient for someone who's only encountered a SNES to imagine what sets the RETRON apart visually?

Why is there so little overlap between spot cleaners, hard floor cleaners and carpet washers? Are we expected to own and store three massive cleaning machines?

Even the rental alternatives aren’t super compelling…

Anyway I finally ordered a used-like-new “Vax Platinum Power Max” that’s supposed to do all three… for £106 🙃

I’m beginning to wonder - in hindsight - if I would have been better off had a hole not been cut in my ribcage. It places a very hard and painful limit on what type of and how much physical activity I can do, with a slow ramp up from discomfort to crippling pain if I don’t take it easy… 😭

I’d really appreciate someone who understands apt packaging for #Python packages helping me with rpipins and picopins for the #RaspberryPi. Just used rpipins to debug some inputs and it’s too good to suffer the fate of Python virtual env monkey business!

I use pyproject/hatch. Surely there’s just a “make apt packaging easy” plugin!?
