@aaisp possibly a stupid question, but are your eSIMs moveable?

For example, if I went on holiday and wanted an alternate eSIM for roaming, would I be able to put your old eSIM back on after?

I only ask because whenever I've been roaming they've been very focused on the whole "it's a one time thing, once you take it off your phone it's gone forever".

(hmm, this also assumes my phone can only have one eSIM, which I ... am not sure about)

From an artist's point of view, is there any difference between you buying a donated CD from a charity shop and downloading pirated music from a torrent site?

Neither gives the artists, songwriters, producers, publishers, or distributors any money.

Neither reports to a charts authority to show popularity.

Both have the same impact on secondary revenue like gig tickets & merchandise.

@Edent a donated CD is limited to only one "theoretical lost sale"; a torrented disc is potentially duplicated and unlimited number of times - so while one single instance may be equivalent, overall your impacts are unlikely to have "the same impact"

I would click on the link in this email from "HMRC Government Gateway", but I'm

(a) unconvinced that HMRC send emails from gmail, and
(b) unconvinced that they use any URLs starting 'cuddlepig' for their official websites.

A small review of Spirited Away at the Coliseum for those who like Ghibli stuff and maybe also saw Totoro (or did not see Totoro and are thinking this will be a good alternative).

We saw it last night. It was good, but the Coliseum is hot and cramped and (this was a big deal) the play is 100% in Japanese, with subtitles to the left and right of the stage. In practice this means you miss action in the centre, when looking at the titles, then you get over-focussed on the titles, and miss action.

Faith schools in England will no longer have to offer up to half of their places to children who don’t belong to their religion, under changes to state school admissions rules sneakily announced by the government, after serious lobbying by the Catholic Church.

I propose, therefore, that the 100% funding they get from the state is also scrapped. I don't object to faith schools. I do object to them being funded by the state.

@junesim63 @dave it's fair to point out that this is only a "consultation", and nothing has changed (yet).

As such, I'd encourage everyone who (quite rightly) objects to this idea to respond to that consultation and make their feelings known.

(turns out I can't because education is devolved!)
