Weird loophole idea; in states in which librarians and teachers aren’t allowed to talk about gender identity and sexuality, aren’t the students still permitted to share about themselves?

I don’t think that can be legislated in the same way. They aren’t employees. If a bunch of trans kids just spontaneously decide to talk about how much they enjoy being themselves in show and tell or whatever, what the fuck is your pearl clutching Republican governor gonna do about it, realistically?

@milan Also meine techischen Freunde haben alle wieder angefangen und instanzen zu bauen. Ich beschränke mich darauf DVD und BR second-hand zu kaufen, aber so ganz streng gesehen kann ich hier in der Schweiz saugen was ich will. Nicht unbedingt komplett legal, aber zumindest straffrei. Da sieht die Risikoabschätzung nochmals etwas anders aus.

After resent-paying for while and after learning about another upcoming price hike, I’ve canceled my Netflix account after almost a decade. It doesn’t deliver even close to the value I’ve been paying and they were so happy with themselves on the latest earnings call, I just don’t want them to see another dollar from me. 😳

@hynek Yup, I started buying second hand DVD and BR, ripp them and put them on NAS for streaming. More work involved, but I get to watch what I want, when I want in the quality I want. And even better: my whole family gets to watch too.

@milan Ich lande ab und zu auf Seiten die sagen "Unauthorized", wenn ich von einem Netz, das DNS basierte Werbefilter verwendet, zugreife. Die Website von #marriot hatten dieses Problem eine Weile. Ich hab dann wo anders gebucht. 🤷‍♂️

    @NatureMC This sounds more like war time requisition than anything else. I wonder what would happen if people just locked themselves in. Would they be breaking any laws?
