I would have liked to have had more focus, especially since I very much enjoyed the episode. But hey, it meant I had an excuse to rewatch a number of choice scenes. :blobcatdance: Silver linings!

Fa's commentary in the beginning reminds me of one of my characters.

Which is fun, bc I also use that character to explore some Brain Themesโ„ข. (Depersonalization and Derealization in specific.) But I'll ramble about my void again later.

I was expecting him, and I'm happy about that. I did not expect Rina, the actress for Sailom's mom in . I'm already a fan of her work.

Mr. Ajin's quick shift from intense and sharp to bumbling teacher is pretty notable. The flake act might have even been convincing if Fa hadn't seen the first bit.

The Deputy director of the school didn't though, so that works out.

Which, like, yeah. It does happen. I'm just surprised at how little prompting she needed.

I'm also not sure if excited was the right word? If it was, that's especially concerning there.

Khao's comment about playing teacher's pet in order to maybe help her grades is so real though.

Even as a nerd... it helps to have the teacher on your side when... say, as a totally random example I absolutely made up: your ADHD means you need extensions for all the reports, and basically never do homework.

So, I forget exactly how, but I saw the janitor scene before. And I remembered the reveal with the voice.

What I forgot was how funny it was when he turned around and she was already halfway down the stairs, like: Nope! :blobcatpopcorn:

Incidentally a really good use of tension-release to intensify emotional reactions. This is why horror-comedy, when done right, can be very good at both.

It's a tricky balance though.

Bc sudden red trench coat and leather pants doesn't really help with the whole being unassuming thing he does as Teacher Ajin.

Not complaining. Except for the part where I don't have an outfit like that. (I do have a black leather trench coat though. However, the front is torn from a mistake I made when fixing it.)

I love everything about the curse removal sequence.

Watching is reminding me that Drops doesn't quite get how Thai works.

Just like how it gets a bit confused when grammar comes into play with Korean.

There's something about its decision to teach words and phrases, but not the grammatical contexts they need to be in, in order to mean what it's saying it means... well...

Sometimes it tells you that "to be big" means "big." In Korean anyway.

The observation I'm making here is that it sounds like Ajin keeps directly referring to Fa as เน€เธ˜เธญ. Which Drops refers to as: "she".

Except TIL that it's a commonly used 2nd person pronoun (ie: "you") that is sometimes used as a 3rd person "she".

But the long and short of it is, Thai has way more pronouns and ways to refer to people than English does.

So, teaching one word each for "I, you, we, he, she, they, it" is... inadequate. :blobcatbusiness:

Also love that look for Seungkwan. And Soobin's bouncy hair is trying its best to steal the show in the best way, but these two are too high energy for it to work.

guess it's time to call my Enigma Watch Party a failure. one person (besides me) watched one episode and the comments weren't exactly complimentary.
So I've failed in my efforts to join in with the drama enthusiasms of others because I can't handle the stress and my best shot for hoping to introduce mine came to nothing. Oh well, lesson learned.

@stefan While running my own server is something I've considered more than once, I don't like the idea of doing so as a rush job in case of emergency. And at the moment, that's what running my own instance in response to my current instance shutting down would be.

I would at the very least want an interim fedihome while I squint at manuals, and make sure I know what I'm getting into, so I can properly set it up.
