MX Linux is my daily atm. I tend to hop around every few months (normally I use Mint.). Honestly, I’m enjoying it far more than Mint and don’t see that changing.

Dunno about what’s up with distrowatch; just chiming in as that one MX Linux person.

Just about everything, really. I’m not a Linux wizard or anything, just to preface.

I like the amount of control it lets me have over everything while also not allowing me to “accidentally” the whole everything. I like that it’s fast and not resource intensive. Love that I can run it on my crunchy old netbook, and yet also my gaming desktop. Also like that it’s Xfce which I’m fond of.

I guess most of that can also apply to many other distros, too. To summarize, suppose I just prefer it.

I use Xfce daily. I honestly prefer it to others. Never had any issues with it, either.

The only thing that helped me was seeing a good ENT. It took several different visits to different ENTs, because while they all identified my issues were structural, I was told surgery wouldn’t help.

I finally was able to get reconstructive surgery, which included removing a bone spur that had grown big enough to almost completely block my left sinus, as well as a reduction of the turbinates on either side.

Probably the most brutal recovery period I’ve ever experienced, because I was breathing through tubes that were basically airline hose for about two weeks, but when they took everything out and my first breath of cold air hit the back of my sinuses for the first time… all worth it.

No on/off sinus infections or sinus issues since then.

Good AAA games are rare these days. If there’s something I want from them I can it buy 2nd hand or during a sale. Been having the time of my life with indie games for so long now I can’t remember the last big title I bought.

I use a smart watch daily. I cannot hold my phone while doing tasks, walking dog, etc so the watch serves as a good go-between.

My phone and watch have their own phone numbers and data so they can be used independently of each other.

Being able to glance at the temperature, read text, make calls, use GPS, etc without juggling the phone and other activities works best for me.

I sure hope they’re playing more games and avoiding crummy workplaces that treat them like garbage. Screw being treated like that; play ALL the games.

Why was a post about "What's the worst Lemmy community you've run across?" removed due to rule 2 when it seemed kinda weaksause compared to what is normally here?

Just wondering what the limit is on rule 2 as I see things like covid vaccine effect questions, what scams are still around and other spicy topics. Don’t want to make anyone upset but it seemed odd.

Recommend me a stable Linux distro for gaming

So I’ve been running Windows on my gaming system and Linux on my laptop for Uni for a while. I chose this to discourage working instead of relaxing, or gaming instead of working. However, I am finding that I often get the opportunity to work from home and I find it easier to just use my laptop on the go (I have a dual monitor...

I’ve been using Linux Mint and found it to be great. Not a single issue so far, whereas I was having quite a few with PopOS, which was my daily for about two years prior.

Haven’t had to do any special tinkering at all. Currently hopping between Cyberpunk, Baldur’s Gate 3, and BattleBit without any problems.

It’s Ubuntu-based (which is based off Debian?) BUT Ubuntu it is not. Now I’m confused. 😁
