Big-time disagree. Been using Windows and Mac versions of Office for over two decades. The Windows version is far superior in pretty much every metric I can think of.
Everyone. If you haven’t seen this, immediately stop what you’re doing and remedy that particular situation. There’s Gone with the Wind, The Godfather, and this. Not even necessarily in that order.
I would read book reviews and critics’ opinions to shape my opinion of the book. I enjoyed many of the books I was assigned to read; others I had zero interest in.
I’d go with Possessor by Brandon Cronenberg. I’ve only seen it once so far, and the unfolding of the story was such that you had to work for it. It wasn’t impenetrably dense, but I definitely had to give it the attention it demanded.
I’m re-watching The Magicians with my wife, since she’s never seen it. It’s been long enough since I watched it last that I don’t remember a lot of things that happened, so there’s a lot of “I forgot got that!” moments for me, which is fun.
The supplement industry isn’t government-regulated (in the US), so there are a lot – A LOT – of supplements that are mostly just filler, but you can find supplements that actually have what’s listed on the label. To separate the wheat from the chaff, I use consumerlab.com. They’re an independent lab that runs studies and benchmarks (more or less) on supplements. They have a specific test for each supplement and aren’t afraid from providing negative results.
Curious about your movie-buying habits… How do you determine what you buy? Movies that look interesting? That you’ve seen before? A little bit of both?
Not something I’m particularly proud of, but at one point I was looking into the sovereign dealio with a little bit more than intellectual interest. “Are these guys on to something?” “What would happen if we ALL decided to do it?” I never went as far as getting a license plate, but… Hold on. Come to think of it, it was never even CLOSE to getting a license plate because I knew that it was all bull crap. Never mind. :)
I was pretty hyped for the new prince of persia game (the lost crown), but come to find out it’s only available on ubisoft’s proprietary launcher or epic games. Nope, and nope....
Genuine curiosity, why does it matter which platform it comes out on? Asking from a comlnsole-only point of view. I only game on PS5, so I’ll never get to play Xbox-only games. But if you’re on a PC, you can just get the other platform?
Fully agree. Honestly, I’m surprised you haven’t been down voted into nonexistence. People acting like, as you said, YouTube’s some sort of “right” was kinda funny at first but it’s descended into throwing a tantrum for getting caught doing something they shouldn’t have been doing in the first place. Petulant children.
It was fresh on my mind from earlier and my blood was still pumping. Here’s my thinking, though. I’ve been using uOrigin with great success. Never saw any ads on YouTube. One day I get a notice from YouTube letting me know that using adblocking is against their ToS and that I can only watch three more videos ad-free. “Well, that sucks. Guess I’m getting ads now.” Since then, my usage of YouTube has dropped DRAMATICALLY. I barely use it anymore. That’s how I’m protesting. I’m not saying that anything that appears on my screen is subject to MY ToS (I’m choosing to visit their site), I’m not saying that they have no right to force ads on us, and I’m not saying that I’m entitled to free content. All I’m saying is that YouTube can conduct itself how it best sees fit; if I don’t like it, I’m by no means obliged to continue using their service. That, I feel, is the best way to let your voice be heard – vote with your clicks, especially when it comes to a non-vital. YouTube’s a for-profit company, so of course they’re in the business of making money. They may be the biggest in the game, but unless there are extenuating circumstances, no one is required to use them. I may be missing some nuances, but this is more or less how I see it. Don’t like it? Don’t use it.
I’ve since discovered that I can browse YouTube ad-free indefinitely by going in cognito.
I don’t mind complaints, it was more of people’s entitlement that was getting to me; people expecting something for nothing.
Also, I appreciate you asking me, and your response to my response. Gave me a chance to speak my peace without being called a corporate shill. Thanks, yo.
