It wasn’t in the headlines before that. It was dutifully picked up and parroted by all corporate news sewers until it was a huge “movement” and every right-wing bastard hated gays AND gay marriage, which they hadn’t known about before.
So. Yeah. That’s what they do. And, thanks to “journalism” being a sick joke for the most part, it works every time.
