homesweethomeMrL,

In them days Linux was even more about messing around with configurations and finding workarounds. It came on floppies, and as it loaded it made these kind of grinding, farting sounds. We would install it with an onion tied to our belt - which was the style at the time.

homesweethomeMrL,

Mm hmm.

homesweethomeMrL,

It’s the WaPo. They report to you the republiQan talking points in their best liberal-npr-radio voice.

homesweethomeMrL,

Do not quote the ancient magicks to me . . .

homesweethomeMrL,

They were convicted of being a monopoly over 20 years ago.

homesweethomeMrL,

Fair enough. Clint kinda burned his whole deal with the talking-to-an-empty-chair bit. And, y’know, other things.

homesweethomeMrL,

This is fucking crazy.

I mean - yeah. That’s. Y’know. Kinda the issue I think.

homesweethomeMrL,

Yeah, I hear that. I make a very limited exception for the stuff about jazz that he does, but it’s super small, relatively speaking.

homesweethomeMrL,
homesweethomeMrL,

True, true. Must be those rotten [marginalized group] then.

homesweethomeMrL,

Yeah, but to be fair a lot of things in the 1920’s US politics didn’t work.

Also the whole criminalization aspect to substance abuse is finally being talked about openly as a major failure in policy.

homesweethomeMrL,

More than that I think society still doesn’t talk about addiction in a useful, healthy way very often. Alcohol being so ingrained in many cultures that it’s basically invisible to many people.

homesweethomeMrL,

The whole liberal media establishment is backing Joe Biden

Yeah that danged liberal media establishment

homesweethomeMrL,

If you’re equating culture with movies and . . . Broadway? Then, uh, yeah I guess? To a large extent movies and Broadway and televised advertisement appeal to and thus reflect some liberal positions, sure. In a necessarily very non-threatening, centrist kind of way.

But that manufactured media of movies, tv, Broadway shows and the rest is an input to the actual culture in which humans usually live, and it ain’t liberal in a lot of the swing states. Turns out, there’s plenty not-liberal movies, tv, and . . . okay maybe not Broadway, ya got me there.

Liberal elite media establishment - thats some Russia Today language, man. Or Fox News. Same thing, I guess.

Also the south is where all the music came from, and the midwest made it possible. So, culture production ftw.

homesweethomeMrL,

Yeahhh there we go. “BiDen GeNoSiDe”. Classic. That’s the stuff.

Hey good luck throwing the world into chaos. We’re all counting on you.

homesweethomeMrL,

The above was written by Chat.GPT. Just in case you think I’m making up terms.

lol. Glad I didn’t read it. Gonna leave you to it now.

homesweethomeMrL,

Cover our eyes? Hardly. How do you think anything gets addressed? Performative outrage on the interwebs? HA!

homesweethomeMrL,

“The liberal media establishment” is a right-wing meme pushed by fox news, talk radio, and, yes, Russia Today for almost thirty years now.

The “media establishment” such as it can be recognized as singular, and with specific regard to political reporting, is conservative. Not liberal.

Broadway, is liberal. Except for maybe Spider-man: Turn Off the Dark. Or Cats. But anyway.

Sarcasm is the inevitable result of hearing right-wing talking points unendingly.

Instagram's unskippable ads test causes outrage among users (www.techspot.com)

Instagram has long been accused of stealing features from platforms such as TikTok, Snapchat, and Twitter/X. It appears that the company has looked to YouTube for its latest idea: unskippable ads that you have to watch for a period of time before being able to scroll further....

homesweethomeMrL,

What account?

Fucking Instagram. Facepals. Tweetle, or, “Borg” as it’s called now. The TicketyTark. Fuck all that shit. Hey look! Free garbage in exchange for everything about my movments and thoughts!

This was the deal in 2000. It’s been 24 years of marveling at how many people just - give all their shit away. Don’t even think about it. And then have the balls to complain when they get screwed.

homesweethomeMrL,

Seconded.

homesweethomeMrL,

Considering we have had almost a decade since the 2016 russian interference and absolutely sweet fuck-all has been done about that, I’m not surprised.

Like, they literally planted a corrupt moron in office and loaded up the judiciary with rapists and fascists, overturned a ton of environmental and consumer protections, gave trillions away to the richest people - all illegitimate, all should be walked back - nothing. A report. Detailing it all. That’s it.

homesweethomeMrL,

It’s the felony conviction we’ve been waiting for. Well, that and the curds.

homesweethomeMrL,

This is the state where the governor was the Secretary of State and threw a bunch of Democrats off the rolls and then closed a bunch of Democrat-leaning voting places and then resigned a month before magically being elected as governor?

That state? The same state where the FBI asked to see the voting machines after the 2016 election because of all the russian hacking into voting places and they “accidentally” wiped all the machines a day after getting the request? That state?

Huh.
