@ai6yr@douglasvb other possible options: astromechs from galaxy's edge (built lightsabers too I think?), magic bands, some of the made with magic ear hats that have BLE, i think that's everything that DLR has with BLE, WDW uses it more
I can't believe no one's ever made a tri-state light dark mode switch for websites. What if I want explicit darkmode, then want to switch back to system colors?
For the last few days I’ve thought that omg.lol is down, and I was surprised no one mentioned it. I was about to post about when I thought to ask Greg whether he can reach it - he can’t. But then he checked downforeveryoneorjustme.com and it turns out it’s down only for us. I’ve never experienced this before. Anyone know why this is happening? I have an account there I can’t reach. It’s so odd!
Joined #Bluesky a couple days ago and, so far, I’m enjoying it more than #Mastodon. It feels like it scratches the same “itch” that Twitter did, which I wasn’t expecting since I don’t know many folks there.
Username is @a2.io for those who are already there.
@faisal@a2 that's pretty much where I'm at. I'm happy with Mastodon, and I kinda don't want another "we're gonna be decentralized but not really” platform. 🤷♂️
@a2@faisal My concern with AT Protocol is that it seems that due to the mechanics of the different data storage, you end up having to rely on someone to host your PDS, at which point we're likely to centralize?
@jerry The part that bums me about blue sky is that there was a perfectly good existing protocol, (activitypub) and they went “let’s just make a new one”.
