I'm reviewing Melbourne International Comedy Festival shows again this year, and encountering once more a mildly frustrating thing... where the comedian, approached months ago for the blurb to attach to their show in the program, wrote something vague because they hadn't thought it through yet.

I'm likely to give such shows a miss. I mean there are hundreds of acts, you have to give me some reason to choose yours. Tell me what it's about, at least the theme, and be ready when the Comedy Festival people come asking for the program blurb.

I imagine regular comedy-goers have the same reservations, unless the comedian is a big name they're familiar with.

I’ve become a real fan of the Comedian’s Comedian Podcast (or #comcompod). It’s an interview show where working comics talk about comedy rather than do comedy, how they make the sausage. Anyway one of the many things I’ve learned is that they typically churn out the name of the show etc before they’ve written it. Seems to be one of those trade secrets.

    You’d have to work within the legislation. So, what legislation is it? Where is your fictional workplace? Just having a game that ignores the law will mean it will fail, as training. (And as someone who worked in the game, I warn you that new governments like to change things.)

    You may not have intended your side comment to involve the death of a family, but I suspect it probably does, in order to meet your final goal. But hey, fantasies don’t have to make sense.

    BadSeedGarden, to plants

    Passion Flower is the most interesting bloom in my garden but it has struggled to really get going.
    I haven’t had a lot of success with plants grown in pots because they are in the hottest part of the yard and dry out too fast. I tried to correct this by adding Soil Moist to the pots and then it rained for 3 months straight 🤦🏻‍♀️

    I have these coming up everywhere. They seriously are the worst weed I have. I’ve neglected them a bit the last couple of months and they are assertively reclaiming my garden as theirs. Yes,the flower is gorgeous, but oh, the price…
