@cabel I’m more impressed it hasn’t faded in over 40 years.

@cabel That explains so much, and also nothing at all. 🤣

So even Apple can’t tell the difference between AI and machine learning. https://mastodon.social/@macrumors/112509170134257647

@andyn Apple knows. They’ve been calling it ML since 2015.

The problem is Wall Street, not Apple. If Apple doesn’t say AI 300 times in every Keynote, stock plummets.

Apple: Our ecosystem is seamless! The deep integration between products and services is second to none!

Apple: Try shared Phots libraries with your family. Everyone has access to the same pics and videos!

Also Apple: Wanna use a video from a Shared Library in a Final Cut project? Get f*cked.

Apple may label iOS 18 artificial intelligence features as a beta preview, signaling Apple is still playing catch-up https://9to5mac.com/2024/05/26/apple-ios-18-beta-preview-artificial-intelligence/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon

@9to5Mac @stroughtonsmith “Playing catch up” or “truth in advertising”?

Anyone who says their AI is ready for prime time is either lying or stupid.

Sure, we all (?) love it’s a small world and Tiki Room and Supercalifragilistic, but what about your favorite OBSCURE Sherman Bros. songs?

I vote for the “Astuter Computer Revue”… https://youtu.be/fxnSSvFilGY?t=1m24s

The “Gnome Mobile” theme… https://youtu.be/9spvS92mMD8

…or “Wonderworld” from Beverly Hills Cop 3?! https://youtu.be/-fjB5RgkMDk

@cabel The Palin for President Polka. My wife sang on the album, and on many other Sherman projects over the last 20+ years. He was a dear friend.

Would it be a little too extra to bring a tiny roll of electrical tape in my standard luggage to block annoying LEDs in a hotel room? Has anyone done this?

jimmylittle,
@jimmylittle@hachyderm.io avatar

@rmondello 1. Go online and get two small rolls of ½”/13mm Gaffers Tape- one in black, one in white.
2. Take a small bit of pencil and wrap several feet off the big roll of tape around the pencil.
3. Put the little pencil stick of tape in your travel bag.

Gaff tape is better than electrical tape. It doesn’t stretch, it’s easy to tear, and doesn’t leave residue behind. I’ve been working off the same rolls of gaff tape for a decade.

And the pencil-roll trick saves tons of size and weight.

About by PCalc for Vision Pro is now in the hands of App Review, so we shall see what happens next!

Making screenshots for visionOS apps is tough, particularly for a fully immersive one like this. Getting the horizon completely level is certainly a challenge.
