After getting incredibly close with some recent roles I had applied for at Apple (a lifelong dream), and fumbling at the last few stages, I'm facing recurring fatigue and frustrations (this is a 5 year-long ongoing search).

If you are, or know, someone who's hiring - I'm available.

I have a decade's worth of Swift and Apple platforms experience, and make cool apps → https://www.pnguin.app

People of Texas. There is a semi-secret election coming up for an important office that is supposedly non-partisan, but features right wing candidates who hate . Vote for the pro-school candidates please

"Why can't we just agree to disagree on politics?"

My dude.

  • Agree to disagree was called pro-choice. You ended it and shoved authoritarian control of women's bodies down our throats.
  • Agree to disagree was called LGBTQ inclusion. You banned it from schools, libraries, bathrooms, and the military.
  • Agree to disagree was called Black Lives Matter. You mocked it and spat on it and threatened us with violence if we "try that in a small town".
  • Agree to disagree was called Democracy. You traitors tried to kill it and install a military coup of your orange god emperor instead.

So no. Apparently, "we" CAN'T agree to disagree. And that's entirely your fault.

Update to this:

They abandoned the project. The assumption is that a federal ban will go into effect by this time next year either through the scotus or a Trump presidency.

A passenger airline client is developing the complicated scheduling tools to ensure that pregnant employees can minimize working in states with actively dangerous restrictions on reproductive healthcare. Pilots also need to rethink where to divert if a passenger has a prenatal medical emergency.
The nearest airports are not necessarily places where care can be provided. This is a major safety, moral, and reputational risk, and it's damned shameful that we have medical "dead zones" in America

Dolly Parton has put over 200,000,000 FREE BOOKS in the hands of children in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, or the Republic of Ireland.

200 MILLION BOOKS!

She didn't build a penis space rocket or dive in sub to see the titanic. She invested her money in the next generations to come.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library ... that's a beautiful thing.

I'm sorry everyone but we need to take back whatever we all said about Apple not doing machine learning right.

iOS 17's Photos app can now identify and explain laundry symbols in pictures and this is amazing. No more need for apps that do this; just swipe up on a photo.

You don't have to use Mastodon through an app!

Every server has its own website where you can log in and use all its features. The web interface is excellent, and it usually gets the latest features before the apps do.

Your server's website address will usually be the same as its name, for example the website for the server kind.social is at https://kind.social

The website works on both computers and phones. (If you're using the phone version, click # to see the search box.)

The same interface but viewed in mobile mode, where the central column takes over the screen and other options are available through icons on the right. Mobile mode activates if the window's width is small enough.

My heartfelt thanks to all of you who use AltText to add descriptions to your pics and media. As someone who used to be able to see but has been blind for over 30 years now, it allows me to see the pic in my mind and is greatly appreciated and allows me to enjoy them.

Another heartfelt thanks to those who use in their hashtags. This makes it so much easier to understand with a screen reader and for those who read print as well! ❤️

Most people have probably already forgotten that several months ago, the Biden admin stopped a nationwide rail strike (over sick days) that might have screwed the economy. This made unions and union supporters very unhappy, and few believed the President when he said he’d get them their sick days. But with the help of Bernie Sanders, he has done it. They got the RR workers what they needed AND avoided a crippling strike. This is a big win for everyone that will probably go unnoticed. http://www.ibew.org/media-center/Articles/23Daily/2306/230620_IBEWandPaid

#introduction

My name is Elizabeth but please call me Lisa.

I'm probably best known as the person who started the #Safari and #WebKit projects at #Apple. You may think you know my deadname but... you don't.

I've drawn underground comics, pioneered using a Mac for newspaper graphics and developed software at Adobe and Netscape.

Now I write video #transcoding scripts and sometimes podcast.

Follow me and I'll fill your timeline with boosts.

Trying to use iCloud/Apple Passwords on my work machine (tough to install 1Password there)

Am I bonkers or is there no way to use the Apple Password system in Chrome on Mac? There’s a Chrome extension for Windows, but not Mac?

This seems really limiting. I can’t use Safari for some intranet sites at work, and don’t want to use Chrome’s password vault.

Update: Twitter is shadow banning MacPaw’s and MacPawvians’ accounts, and their fundraiser hashtag was flagged as “sensitive content.” Not great for a promotional push!

Let’s get it going on Mastodon: 1) donate to https://macpaw.foundation/ during , 2) post that you donated and tag your post
