Today is the last Sunday of my sabbatical. And for that matter, tomorrow is the final overall day of my sabbatical.

On Tuesday, I'm joining the team over at Ziff Davis Shopping, where I'll have the opportunity to work directly with so many people I've long admired from the PHP community and finally (finally!) attain my years-long goal of working outside of the WordPress ecosystem. To say that I am giddy with excitement is to be a master of understatement.

It’s been three months since I have subscribed to any streaming video platform. I’ve watched a few movies on Plex and from the library, but I otherwise don’t miss it for the most part. I watched 1/2 of an SNL re-run on Saturday broadcast with commercials and it was fine.

I cancelled my Xbox Premium on the 22nd, too. Just don’t need or use any of it.

Kevin Casey’s talk is reminding me that I still haven’t seen any presentations about chaos engineering in the PHP space. Kevin’s session was about mitigating system failures and chaos engineering is all about purposefully introducing failures to test systems resiliency. Casey Rosenthal from Verica (and formerly of Netflix) wrote a book on the topic. #phptek
