Random question: is it possible to "include" Atom feeds inside other Atom feeds by reference?
My use case: have several focused thematic feeds (e.g. posts on my blog, videos on my YouTube channel, major announcements on my game's site) and them aggregating them all in, say, filiph.net/all_english.xml by doing something like:
My only regular experience with desktop Linux is Raspberry Pi OS.
The GUI is buggy. Today, the taskbar disappeared when I turned on the monitor. As I dragged a window, the taskbar reappeared. I released the mouse, but the window kept dragging offset from the cursor.
I feel like I cannot rely on it because if there are that many visible bugs, there likely are more invisible bugs.
I am sure I could spend time researching and tweaking, but I have better things to do than fix a default.
@Jeremiah As Ubuntu became bloated and more tailored to push Canonical's commercial services, I've really enjoyed Fedora with vanilla Gnome. It's up-to-date, stable, and both desktop metaphors and gestures are really similar to macOS.
The only tricky part could be non-free drivers and video codecs though, looks like WiFi doesn't work out of the box on MacBooks.
@mirek@honzajavorek Proto používám aliasy (email relays) a svůj pravý email vydám výjimečně.
Jen to občas vede k zábavným situacím když alias musím diktovat. Jednou mi volal majitel eshopu že ten email co jsem zadal je jejich.
Can I please ask this amazing Mastodon community for your help? I’m doing my research studies on social media behaviors. If you have a few minutes, can you please complete 📝 this SURVEY or 🔃this toot ?
I’m from The University of Queensland 🇦🇺: , feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
THANK YOU in advance 🤩 #Mastodon#socialmedia#research#survey
@nad1a Done. Thanks for doing this research, I'm looking forward to the results!
I've got a bit confused in the question on the last page to rank my use of social media. I know that I should mark 0 the ones I don't use, but how do I know if 1 is the highest or the lowest? (I went with 1 for highest)
I'm still wondering what Meta has to gain from the federation.
“They want to steal fediverse users!”
Really? With ~140M users Threads is already 10 times bigger than estimated total size of fediverse¹. And I don't think majority of folks here are excited about anything what Meta offers.
Personally I think they'll use ActivityPub as a shield against regulators: “Look, we don't have a monopoly, it's an open network!” or something like that.
Maybe Threads is moving to federation precisely because Meta doesn't perceive the fediverse as a threat.
The inaugural Stockholm Social Web Meetup will explore the idea of federated social networks, demonstrate 3 of the most popular apps, and help folks get started.
You are already here, but please tell your Stockholm-based creators, journalists, activists, and cat meme loving friends.
Doors open at 17:30. Event starts at 18:00.
Thanks to @Interledger for sponsoring and the delicious tacos!
I will be live blogging #NGIForum23 in this thread. Feel free to follow along or mute this thread. 😁

@Albertkinng I'm just curious about these (alleged) influences and inspirations.
When I saw AI Pin's on-hand projection it triggered this latent memory from time when I learned about ubiquitous computing. And ever since the 90's SixthSense was only a prototype, so I find it pretty exciting to see this technology becoming real after almost 3 decades.
