Day 1 of roadtripping with the #Rivian. Drove from #Baltimore to #Indianapolis, ~600 miles. Followed the built-in navigation’s advice on charging, which I think was a little too conservative. It had us stop 4 times, despite a nominal range of a hair over 400 miles with a full charge. I think it needs a roadtrip mode, or something, that lets you temporarily sacrifice ideal battery conditioning for overall speed, but otherwise it’s a fantastic car for a road trip, and I’m really loving it!
Does anyone know if there exists such a thing as a recessed USB receptacle that can fit in a (US) 1 gang electrical box, that would allow me to flush-mount a USB-powered device, so that the cord would just be hidden in back going into the receptacle? The application is that there’s already a box with 110V power to it, where I want to do this. #DIY#HomeImprovement#LazyWeb#LazyMastodon
I attempted to set up an iOS shortcut to automatically log my current location in a machine readable format when I go to sleep. I have a shortcut that successfully generates a data dictionary with the appropriate data, and appends it to a Numbers spreadsheet when I run it manually, but when I let it run automatically, it fails, and the only feedback I get is this truncated error message in a notification. I can’t find any way to see the complete error message, or even replicate the issue… 😒
Very pleased with the #Rivian R1T’s performance in snow, even with the road tires! I suppose the weight and distribution probably help a lot with that.
Y’all! This is not a drill! Don Fuego hot sauce is available for purchase again! This is some of the best hot sauce I’ve ever had, and it’s not even usually a style that I like. Think of it as being what Tabasco fans claim Tabasco is like, but it’s actually as good as they say, instead of being bland, slightly peppery vinegar! https://www.donfuego.com/
After months (an eternity!) of not being allowed to run, jump, use stairs, or otherwise have fun, this sweet girl just got the thumbs up from the vet to be a dog again! Her leg is officially fully healed, and now we just need to slowly build up her stamina again (a short, ½ mile walk leaves her totally exhausted right now…).
Damn. After I decided that the minimal necessary repairs were worth it for my ‘14 Cherokee, they’ve now discovered more issues that require work. Total cost for everything will exceed the value of the vehicle by several thousand dollars.
Not sure what to do: repair it and drive it into the ground, or sell it? 💩
Hmm, for some reason, #BirdBuddy has started occasionally misidentifying black-headed grosbeaks as spotted towhees. We do have both here, and they are somewhat similar looking from certain angles, but the towhees have yet to visit the feeder (and I don’t think they’re likely to). Hopefully correcting it will train the AI to better distinguish between them.
Damn. Vet thinks our dog has a torn ACL, so now we’ll have to take her down to the veterinary hospital in Albuquerque to see if it’s surgical, and possibly cut our stay in New Mexico short to take her back to Baltimore, where it will be easier for her to relax and take it easy during recovery, rather than wanting to run and play with my mom’s dogs.
