Recipes that try to specify how long it will take to cook a large piece of meat are amusing. The recipe that I’m not actually following, said 4-5 minutes per side to get to 135° F. 25 minutes later? We’re at 74° F.

Excellent, we have electricians in to do the wiring for our new heat pumps, and they’re also going to move an old 220V 30A dryer outlet that’s no longer used to the garage, so I’ll be able to charge my #Rivian at better than 1 kW on the 110V, 15A outlet that was previously the only one close enough to the driveway to reach (the garage itself is stupidly not actually accessible to anything larger than a side by side…

We were out of cornmeal, so my mom used masa to make cornbread, and… this is the best cornbread I’ve ever had? Incredibly moist, and fluffy. Almost cake-like! Not sure if it was just a 1 to 1 substitution, or she found a different recipe.

Edit: masa harina, to be more accurate…

Ok, here’s a kinda weird one: anyone have experience with Ghost Controls gate openers, and know if there’s any way to determine the arm state from the control board or arm itself? I’d love to wire up a sensor that could say if the arm is extended or retracted (either/or, or both!). Haven’t been able to see a way to do so, but it seems like it should be possible, seeing as you can adjust the full extension length.

Does anyone know if there exists such a thing as a recessed USB receptacle that can fit in a (US) 1 gang electrical box, that would allow me to flush-mount a USB-powered device, so that the cord would just be hidden in back going into the receptacle? The application is that there’s already a box with 110V power to it, where I want to do this.
