Figuring out how to level out the end grain on the bench top sides is…not fun.

I made cuts with a circular saw from the top and bottom and used a handsaw to cut out the middle.

I’m taking suggestions for good ways to deal with it. So far my hand planes are slow going. Sanding would take forever. Resaw? Chisel? Fire?

Reviewing last year's transfer rumors to see how the season could have gone differently and signing Aaron Long wouldn't have fixed things.
Shuto Machino probably would have, but he's gone to Bundesliga now.

So, let's get funky. The Saudi Big Four that are signing all those Euro greats just before their retire? They have talents who are about to be spare parts. They're releasing some on frees!

I don't really care about the All-star game, other than thinking that last year's pairing with the Liga MX All-stars was more fun. But, I'm 100% here for the skills challenge that happened yesterday. Watching players do silly soccer things... yes, please.

(I might care more about the game if more were involved, but mostly I just want to make sure none of the guys get hurt playing an exhibition game.)

It is very weird to go back to an algorithm after having Twitter permanently on Latest and Mastodon having nothing.

@bedirthan I'd lived in a Twitter bubble by using a third-party client, so I essentially never experienced it mediated by an algorithm. And of course there's no algorithm on Mastodon. Instagram feels borderline unusable to me because of the algo, and I'm curious how Threads will be.

I can deal with (a moderate amount of) ads, but all I really want is to just see all the content from the folks I follow, in chronological order. Not sure why that's so hard for Meta/Twitter to understand!

Downloaded the much-ballyhooed new “XApp” which is said to replace the much-hated “Remote” app that would connect to the camera successfully maybe one times in five. New app connected to my X-T30 instantly on Bluetooth, totally refused to connect on WiFi (which you need for all the interesting stuff). I love the cameras but I guess Fuji is just bad at software. Pfui.

@timbray I've yet to try it (need to do a firmware update on my X-T5 first), but…and I have a limited sample size of only having owned Canon and Fuji equipment, it seems like all camera manufacturers are bad at software. It seems like such an opportunity for someone to be good at both hardware and software…
