@bedirthan I feel like being a sports fan is helpful in situations like this. It helps to remember that even the best players sometimes have an off day. And it's okay.
I have a new phone in hand. But the switching from old phone to new phone experience for so long was so poor that I don't really want to start the process.
So I’m at a French bistro in #Seattle and four mimes just walked in and they’re having dinner and gesticulating wildly and this is the best thing ever.
@bedirthan I've managed to convince myself that Nico leaving is best for both parties. Until today, I'd held out a tiny shred of hope (like, 1%) that he'd come back on a cheaper deal, but really, I'm not sure that would have been good for either the team or him. And I’m pretty impressed with how both Nico and the team have handled the departure.
One a recent SaH podcast, someone made the point that Nico (who wants to be everywhere all the time) doesn't fit the system the Sounders want to play. So, even at $500k, it just might not be the right thing.
While I'm on a #Woodworking video rant, what's with all these YouTube woodworking people whose benches look more pristine than the counters in Eric Ripert's kitchen?
@jappel It doesn’t bother me overly much, in part because I mentally categorize #woodworking YouTube into two groups: entertainment and education. I like and watch videos from both groups, but the entertainment-focused ones tend to have fancier spaces/stuff.
@ottaross Thanks! It already has some nicks and dents, and I keep reminding myself that it's a workbench and meant to be used. That helps me from getting too precious with it.
@ottaross Oh, I have no shortage of projects! I’m building a boat (http://boat.karlnelson.net), and I'm starting on a solid-body electric guitar for my older kid.
