@waynedixon I’m not sure at this point. My budget doesn’t have a ton of wiggle room at the moment, and we had poutine on Friday, but we’ll see what the one day of the year that does not exist (tomorrow) brings to the supper table!

@waynedixon Although I do have a new iPad on my wishlist, but that has to wait for the March pricing to stabilize as I want to get the new Pro but also wouldn’t mind the current gen at a discount from the refurbished shop.

@waynedixon I definitely would have to wait until the fall to fit one into my budget, most likely. I am actually quite tempted to pick up a base model 9th or 10th gen (or refurb 8th) and use it in the interim and then upgrade the 7th gen mum has and give the boys a backup at nana & papa’s when they visit (or maybe my dad, dunno if he’d use it at all).

@waynedixon Yeah, that’s why I’m thinking 9th gen over the change of the 10th, but that pricing on a 256GB model 8th gen is so tempting! We’ll see what the next month or so brings.

@WTL @waynedixon I know! I want some! But there’s nothing yummy within walking distance, and going over to the McD’s and Tim’s close to us is too far (and wouldn’t cut it for a worthwhile treat anyway).

I managed the equivalent to half a work shift+ at my desk today!

But not doing work, because I’m still on medical leave (duh).

I need to remember to actually take breaks and stuff, including standing with my desk - my chair was mostly comfy, though, and I stumbled down a rabbit hole with @amymyoung, so time flew by super quickly.

Was hoping to get back into the studio tonight, but I was falling asleep watching tv earlier, so we’ll see.

A little over a month since my iron infusion and a little under three weeks since my total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy. Talk about life saving!

The cat has decided to play the bully card on his foster brother this weekend. Unlucky for him, he has his own room at my friend’s place and got put in timeout yesterday. Which is extra hilarious when you know what his pouty and grumpy faces look like.

He’s a brave little shit who thinks he can come back in to their house and go full alpha. Nu uh, little dude, it’s Felix’s house and you’re only a visiting guest!

Not to Felix; they both refuse.

But to my friend, clearly in an attempt to not be stuck in his room today. (He has his own room for a safe place, he stays there overnight & when they’re not home, away from the cat who is infatuated with him and so he doesn’t get into trouble.)

They both get separate floors today.

Thank the gods they don’t speak English!

Our February 14th: began with a bright and early breakfast before the mister went to work and ended with some home cooked steaks, mashed potatoes & broccoli and some action packed tv episodes.

Nothing fancy. Nothing expensive. No leaving the house and wearing any specific clothes necessary (well except for when the mister went to work).

I just deleted and re-installed both the Instagram and Threads app from my iPhone. Each of them were taking up over 5GB of space.

For context, my ENTIRE health app data is only 2.7GB, and that goes back to 2015. Messages is 2.4GB, Mail is 1.26GB on my phone.

Seriously, WTF does a company need 5GB of data on my device for? I get that some is used for caching, but not 5GB worth.

@waynedixon Oh that’s a great reminder for me. Instagram is at 3.45GB and Facebook is at 1.84GB. Health is only at 1.36GB for me.

Telegram is at 7.71GB and Discord is at 6.98GB. Must be nice to take up all this space when they use their own servers for stuff, unlike Messages and Photos!

@Hundstrasse I’m unsure, but I don’t like the taste of coffee unless it’s one of those sugary vanilla frappes in a bottle from the bux or some really good cold brew.

I am a big fan of orange pekoe, and a specific peach apricot tea, but will drink earl grey if there’s no orange pekoe available.

Found our new go to place for poutine. And milk shakes. And likely other Canadian style fast food. And Chinese food.

And they deliver without the shitty food delivery apps. Plus we can also go enjoy a meal on site when the weather is better.

I'll say something for Rogers support; I'm impressed. I've been on “hold" waiting for a specialist since 5:00pm and it's now 8:30PM and no one has shown up yet.

(I haven't actually been sitting there waiting. I walked away and came back periodically to check and am now officially giving up)

[edit] Changed my mind. I'll leave it open overnight just to see …

@WTL Sadly this doesn’t shock me at all. It’s embarrassing that this company is dropping a million dollar cash prize for the new season of Canada’s Got Talent, yet they can’t even get stuff like this working or properly invest in infrastructure to bring real internet to more homes. Or pay their employees a living wage.

I’m currently sitting on a dining room chair, while I wait for a delivery - don’t worry, I won’t be doing things I shouldn’t be doing to get it!

I’m having a good time on the chair, which I’m hoping means by Monday I’ll be comfy in my computer chair and maybe some content stuff (including strims) can happen by next week’s end?

I’ve got some non-strim content planned, but when it begins depends entirely upon what tolerance sitting at my desk I’ve got.

At least I can manage the stairs now!

The mister goes back to work tomorrow. I’ve got a good friend coming to hang out for two days, and then it’s just me at home. (The cat can’t come back until I am a bit more mobile, cause the little fucker will attack my feet every time I climb into bed, so I need to be able to manage the suddenness of that.)

This means I can take over the rest of the living room for a computer setup. Likely no PC gaming, but I’ll have more stability for laptops of all kinds. And colouring.

I cannot wait!
