Made our usual pilgrimage to the Costco business centre this morning before the church goers showed up. Except it seems like everyone and their children who weren’t at church thought it would be a great place to hang out to avoid the rain.

Managed to restock some necessities!

We’ll head back in a few weeks for a pre-summer bulk meat shop, but need to wait until our vacuum sealer arrives.

Thankfully everything else is stocked and ready for the summer, including our propane and charcoal for our Weber twins.

Just need to go pick up our patio furniture from my parent’s place, and we’ll have something comfortable to sit on while we’re waiting on the grill or bbq. And have a place for guests to sit, too, natch.

Today was the first day of in , so I went to the local Metro (Beechwood Ave), and after wandering the store, was absolutely flummoxed to discover that nearly everything we regularly purchase was less expensive at our local Loblaws (Rideau St).

I didn't see that coming. After thinking about it a bit, I suspect it might have to do with the location of the Metro (Beechwood/Rockliffe is well-to-do).

Will have to look at a map and see where the next closest one is. 🤔

@film_girl It’s such a shame that it’s as terrible as it is. You either have people with a Mac who know no better, or people with a Mac who will switch to a browser that will allow for a better overall browser experience with ublock origin and similar.

My partner and I are learning Dutch together. He hasn’t started his lessons. I’m cruising to the top of the weekly leaderboard.

We’re planning a trip to the Netherlands for a birthday and anniversary celebration, and have both always wanted to learn Dutch, so there’s no time like the present to get started!

Tuesday: 150 seconds of plank, Yoga for runners, and then 12.2 km of (7°C).

It's always fun when the yoga includes more plank. 🤣 Playing with routes; included a long (~1km) slow uphill which was also fun. At least it was nice and cool morning run, even if my knee was speaking to me again. 🤔

Sprocket was making a wacky face this morning that I managed to catch (dog in second photo).

Quickly hacked together a mount for our monocular and used it to project the sun onto some cardboard in our back yard.

Always cool to see how quickly it gets dark, how it cools off, and how quiet it gets.

I’m gonna curse us with more shitty weather simply by saying this, but whatever.

I’m looking forward to the weather stabilizing enough that I can put on my walking shoes and get back to my long distance walking life. Slowly at first, of course, but I’m hoping by the summer I’ll be covering a good amount of distance at any given time, if I want to.

I’d make my first long distance walk goal from here to the office, but that’s a two hour trek.

This Easter I learned that my almost eleven year old nephew, batman, is the same height as me.

I always knew the day would come, but at least he didn’t get a noogie in when it happened.
