deaths related to a second impact are not fully understood. some believe it may just be underdiagnosed latent brain bleeds.

. my understanding that ER/ED basically only have moderate responsibility to judge that you will not die and sue them in the next ~24h after an event. they tell you to seek further primary care when discharged.

i didnt read the article or all the comments.
but my impression is a good MRI would be more than enough. no?
maybe the interpretation of the results were not done carefully.

pretty obvious that DAI is certainly a recognized thing.
maybe DAI is less studied than open head injuries in humans.

the fact that gtk, qt, firefox pull in a hundred deps is their own problem.
not a problem per se…

ask software to install itself twice and it becomes noticable how enormous the code is.

technically every social media site can and will be used to affect elections in some way.

water is wet.

this is despite facebook and regulators turning a blind eye and downplaying privacy concerns for the last 20 years.

Android Microphone Snooping (lemmy.world)

So I had a verbal conversation with a coworker yesterday and now I’m getting fed very specific ads. No possible way it’s accidental. they happen to be right there anyway.
also super high visibility to customers and other worker. takes 30min per day max.

crypto or crypto algorithms.
“nobody needs to work to make crypto work”
however bitcoin will need to die for it to be a perfectly flawless practice. and it will generally never teach/encourage altruistic values or inspire productivity.
bitcoin will slowly lose ground over time… but perhaps never die. if btc died , suddenly, it would be bloody.

all problems are potentially just problems with our current implementation of society.

rfc didnt seem so bad to me. but im a hobbyist

Is gentoo Linux really worth it?

I’ve installed gentoo but there seems like there’s so many sacrifices. I love that it’s all open source, but I really don’t mind closed source software now and then, because after all I would be using it to play closed source games. The biggest compromise I’ve observed is the very long build times. I have a lukewarm...

reading about recompiling debian kernel. it doesnt seem to be ohh soo much harder than gentoo. but it seems fairly uncommon and not as well supported. it is a shame…

the monoculture nature of prepackaged distros is also a problem.
