lemmyreader,

Sure, it’s theoretically possible. But that might account for less than 1% of currently living billionaires, if any at all.

Tempting to agree on the less than 1%.

Regarding millionaires, not billionaires, I can only think of one who sold a business and then started a Linux distribution : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Shuttleworth

lemmyreader,

Interesting project, but last time I tried it was battery hungry, and having made quite an effort to get some of my contacts on Signal, I don’t see it happen to get them all on SimpleXChat. And Signal Stickers make Signal more attractive for some.

lemmyreader,

Beware privacyspreadsheet.com/messaging-apps uses Google fonts. So much for privacy.

lemmyreader,

Interesting story. t y for sharing. And what did you push this crowd of people into ? :) Signal, Matrix, XMPP, Briar, Session ?

lemmyreader,

Reminds me of the days that cdroms were brand new and advertised like indestructible, with photos of elephants walking over it. Having said that I assume SSD disks can break like other hard disks can break, and in that case RAID can save a lot of time to get a computer back up especially when a lot of data is involved.

lemmyreader,

Well, I had to solve three CAPTCHA puzzles before getting through to the page itself, so I figured to insert that link.

lemmyreader,

Let me leave this here :

The poverty in the West is a different kind of poverty – it is not only a poverty of loneliness but also of spirituality.

lemmyreader,

Someone who works in hospital system posted about this in a comment earlier : lemmy.ml/comment/9989330

lemmyreader,

So, exa became eza. Thanks. github.com/ogham/exa

exa is unmaintained, use the fork eza instead. (This repository isn’t archived because the only person with the rights to do so is unreachable).

A German state is ditching Windows and Microsoft Office for Linux and LibreOffice on the 30,000 PCs it uses for local government functions (www.theregister.com)

Schleswig-Holstein, Germany’s most northern state, is starting its switch from Microsoft Office to LibreOffice, and is planning to move from Windows to Linux on the 30,000 PCs it uses for local government functions....

lemmyreader,

Consider that the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) recently found that the European Commission’s use of Microsoft 365 breaches data protection law for EU institutions and bodies.”

Good news :-)

lemmyreader,

Reading Medium article with Scribe and Libredirect libredirect.github.io works very well for me.

lemmyreader,

Did you refresh ? The app just landed on F-Droid, I got it from here fossdroid.com with its home page : f-droid.org/packages/dev.spiegl.flyingcarpet/

Comments no longer visible with youtube frontends?

Are comments no longer visible for anyone else using the youtube frontends? I can no longer see comments with either invidious, piped, or viewtube, and I’ve tried several instances of each. With invidious there’s just nothing there below the video description. With viewtube I get an error message. And with piped I see...

lemmyreader,

And with piped I see placeholder text “Avatar, null, -1 replies” in place of every comment.

Yes. Seen that with some videos since weeks with Piped.video.

lemmyreader,

The original page ostechnix.com/how-to-test-a-package-without-insta… gave me errors, hence I went for the WayBackMachine copy. Maybe it is a problem at their side, and they will fix it later.
