Imagine binutils/gcc giving you a definitive list of supported target triples :v

@azonenberg I have something like that in the pipeline! It'll even build the cross-compilers for you if it knows how! (that's the plan anyway :v, too many projects in the works)

Debating if it would be worth the trouble to put Squishy through OSHW certification or not, hmm.

lethalbit,

@North Yeah, i'm just not entirely sure it's overall worth it, shrug

deeply embedded firmware always makes me kinda itchy,

Like, do /you/ know what the small ARM core buried deep inside your GPU die running firmware off a baked in mask-rom is /actually/ doing?

Or what about the small core inside your HDD or SSD?

Yeah, makes me itchy,

To the person on ebay selling the old acoustic coupler for 1K USD and saying it's "RARE!", you're part of the problem,

They say that Debian is the Linux distribution for lesbians, but most lesbians I know use either Gentoo, Arch LInux, or NixOS :v

It sure would be cool if I could get a Keithley 2400 for under 3K T~T

Kinda grumpy that it seems like Lattice doesn't have die-to-pad lengths/delay timings in their IBIS files, at least that i've found :/

important life lessons: a multimillion dollar company can, in years, almost approach the output of a ragtag group of lesbians working for two weeks

@ktemkin is this with or without ADHD meds? :v

There is always at least one pair where +/- are crossed, in this case it's crossed for both RX /and/ TX, fun :akiflop:

lethalbit,
@lethalbit@chaos.social avatar

@azonenberg In this case they're going into a mux, which does allow for the +/- to be swapped, but it needs to be swapped for /all/ the pairs, which is a problem because 2 are fine, the other 2 need swapping, so it's a lose lose situation.

I could check to see if the ECP5 has a register in it's DCU to swap the polarities and then I can /maybe/ swap that depending on plug polarity but I rather not chance it, it's not hard to swap them over either way, just annoying.

big endian is best endian,

little endian was invented by big CPU to sell more bswaps
