@mrcompletely I’m thrilled because I have an archive of a lot of personal effects from that era but no tapes that were mine. I was sad I didn’t have them anymore - I designed the art for them & just wanted one for my collection. So wild that they are finding their way back to me. Super weird coincidence & random chance I’m getting them back.

Greetings all & happy spring ☀️

I’ve spent the past year finishing & finalizing my about my years following the ~ including taking my daughter on tour after her father was set up in a large LSD sale & got 20 years in prison.

Happy to say I signed w/an agent & have a publisher. It’s in a formal review process & I will have a book deal soon 💕

I studied writing in undergrad & English in grad school & waited years to write this. So excited to put this out there ❤️⚡️💙

Fuck I love a heavy winter rain. The land was built over geological and evolutionary time to be soaked this time of year; it's a huge green sponge. The big conifers are in their element. For a day everything feels harmonious, as if the cycles of heat and cold, wet and dry haven't been pushed off their axes. We're wobbling, yes. But on a day like today it feels like the center still holds, if in a tense and tenuous way. The sound is the most beautiful thing of all

Tomorrow my daughter Sophie turns 25 & I’m taking her to see her favorite band, , in Syracuse. I’m also going to put a lemon glaze on this cake & we’re gonna sing Happy Birthday to her on lot. If you see us, give her a shout out & stop by for a piece of lemon blueberry pound cake!

It's not every day that a new Garcia Band SBD from the 70s turns up. This one is just a single reel, the end of set 1 from 10.27.78, towards the end of the Godchaux lineup era. To round it out I included the 3 song SBD fragment from the prior night, which includes a long, fiery Lonesome & A Long Way From Home. Thanks to all the free live music heads who keep things flowing

My middle daughter Sophie sent me a little Mother’s Day gift. I love how she realizes the card is “vintage”GD from 1989 🤣✌🏼❤️⚡️💙

My daughter drew the 13-point lightning bolt and then wrote: * P.S. - apparently this is a "vintage" G.D. greeting card! from the yellowing of the cardstock and the copyright on the back, I think it may actually be tom '89. Groovy.”
The magnet’s new home among my other magnets on my fridge.

Then again, I’ve had a lot of experiences I couldn’t have had if I’d been too weighed down by stuff. The experiences and the memories of those experiences are what truly matter. And at least we have the music!

Yesterday’s concert at Barton Hall was one for the history books. I got a ticket just a few days before the event. Within the first few songs I left my seat & found a super sweet dancing spot next to the soundboard. The sound was perfect & I was Dead center. Still can’t believe I got in & that I got to see them in my little town. I actually walked home after the show. Lots of students & staff clearly enjoying themselves immensely. Just epic.

@mrcompletely unbelievably yes! I’ve been hounding this guy I know in media relations & he was able to get them through alumni affairs. We had to pay, but we’re in! And my friend is letting me pay much less than they cost.
