Spent the last few days building a small site which will convert an OPML file of RSS subscriptions into an HTML list of links to their respective websites. I needed it for a blogroll I’m planning to add, but I figured this might be something others may find useful. https://opml-to-blogroll.lmika.app

Netcraft, on behalf of Facebook, have reported this post to DigitalOcean as phishing as my droplet is going to be suspended within 24 hours if I don't remove it https://rknight.me/blog/convert-spotify-facebook-to-email-login/

What the actual fuck.

@robb Ooh, that’s rough. Sorry you had to go through all that.

🗓️ Here's my end of year post for 2023 https://rknight.me/just-2024-things/

I did way more than I thought I had.

@robb What an impressive portfolio of projects released this year. Great stuff.

@robb Love how they positioned the button so that the sign now reads "Do Use"

Question for the developers. You're sending an API request with an array of arguments (e.g. show me only things of type 1 and type 2), assuming the API doesn't support comma separated values, which of these would you expect to be the "correct" way?

lmika,
@lmika@social.lol avatar

@robb last time I used jQuery it used to include the brackets for multi value query parameters by default. I found it an odd default to have but if it was because of PHP, then that explains a lot.

Also new: added a project changelog to my site with filtering by change type and an RSS feed! https://rknight.me/log/

@robb This looks good. I'm curious as to how you add entries for this page. Is it just entries on a static site? Do you have a form or something?

lmika,
@lmika@social.lol avatar

@robb Ah, okay. Very nice and simple. Thanks for that.

TIL that Logic Pro will include the click-track in the bounce if it’s left on. This “feature” costed me a fair bit of rework today. I’d prefer it if the click-track is never in the bounce unless you enable it otherwise. More likely to show intent: wanting it there vs. forgetting to turn it off.

lmika,
@lmika@social.lol avatar

@robb Interesting that you say that. These projects were originally from GarageBand, and I think (although I'm not certain) that I kept the click-track on for Logic Pro "native" projects and I didn't hear it in the bounce.

Might be that they keep the click-track on in Logic Pro for projects imported from GarageBand, but that might be conspiratorial thinking.

@gruber Apple has a logo on favorited songs on the now playing screen in iOS 17.1 that looks familiar 😝

@matt The dedicated "Open DF article about this song" button. 😀

I feel like I’m always criticizing Sharp Tech clips, so this I’ll just say that today’s episode is an absolute banger. Ben and Andrew got really heated arguing about the FTC’s antitrust case against Amazon.

Awesome show ❤️

If Substack wants to improve their reader experience, I have one very specific request https://birchtree.me/blog/if-substack-wants-to-improve-their-reader-experience-i-have-one-very-specific-request/

@matt Yes! 1,000x this. This really bothers me whenever I'm trying to read something on Substack.
