@ctietze Sigh. The whole Swift Open Source implememtation has been bad for ages. As long as you're on some streamline Linux like Arch and not this kinda free and proprietary sourced software Ubuntu thingy.
CF is amassing a lot of power. With 30% of all Internet Traffic going through CF and them decrypting all HTTPS traffic at the Edge...and able to change any or all of it transparently. This extract from CF's blog reads like a Government/Thread Actor's dream come true....

Frage an die Leute, die ihre Geräte wie Laptops mit Sicherheits-Token wie YubiKey oder Nitrokey, … und so absichern: Welche USB-/NFC-Tokens nutzt/empfehlt ihr?
Ich würde meinen Laptop (Linux-/Win-Dualboot) und mein Smartfon damit beglücken wollen. Lese mch gerade ins Thema ein.
Man kann jetzt in Echtzeit beobachten, wie die Dynamik bei #Covid zu kippen beginnt. Bisher sind die Fallzahlen sehr moderat gestiegen (siehe z.B. Sentisurv), vermutlich überwiegend durch enge Kontakte. Inzwischen sieht man quasi auf diesem Trend immer wieder größere Cluster (d.h. punktuell starke Verbreitung in geeigneten Settings). Es ist absehbar, dass diese stärkere Verbreitung bald mehr und mehr in der Fläche stattfindet und wir eine echte epidemische Dynamik kriegen.

Make the render engine render insane megabytes of useless dynamically injected error-prone JavaScript and malformed HTML fast.
Spoiler: There is no performance difference in well-formed static HTML pages, but we got totally used to this dynamic shit.

My standpoint is that, not only should all social software support ActivityPub, it should be required by law.
Further to that, all social software should have an account migration path towards and away from it.
No, I’m not saying all servers should federate with each other. What I am saying is that it should be impossible for any one server software to monopolize the network effect.
I was seriously considering submitting a talk for #gopherconeu this year, titled “Who is afraid of (web) frameworks?” Now, I’m running around thinking that this will probably bring me more hat than generate a constructive discourse.
What should I do? Are we beyond the point of discussing those topics in the #golang community?
@preslavrachev@bronger No idea what to use that stuff for as there are some nice http.Client and http.Server implementations.
They do have their issues. My gut feeling is everybody is framework-first (python-/ruby-/nodejs experience?) instead of "avoid third-party stuff until you cannot, then vendor it' (my personal objective-c/swift/nodejs experience)
