@Flux @aral yeah that’s my take too and i used to work on this kindnof tech (before i knew better). I think it may be technically true but i think it’s very unlikely that it’s meaningfully true and i’d bet a paycheck it wasn’t done with any of the explicit intent the article implies.

Also any disabled person caught in this ALSO searched for disability stuff on google AND viewed disability sites with their trackers.

Google already knew they were disabled

It is 2:35 PM.
so far, I have managed to

  • walk the dogs twice
  • convince the cat to stop yelling at us by giving her supervised outside time
  • completely disassembled and reassembled the hot end of my printer to remove a clog
  • partially disassembled and reassembled the same thing to remove a second clog
  • eaten lunch

I think I started to work on something before wifey woke up, but at this point, I have no idea what it was.

  • the clog is no longer a problem because i replaced the hot end with my 0.6mm one, and now I need to buy a new 0.4mm

The filament somehow got wound under itself and formed a knot. Extruder couldn't pull any more. stuff got stuck.

I thought i'd cleared it out, but apparently not. & now there's a clog in the middle of the heating chamber / tube that refuses to budge no matter how hot I make it or how hard I shove with the wee needle thing.

I can't open that up so... it's just dead i guess.

😿 the 0.6 nozzle was clogged too. I definitely cleared that clog though.

ALL of these clogs have ultimately been due to filament doing things it wasn't supposed to: breaking + ??? (with the wood impregnated), getting tied in a "knot" so it couldn't be pulled off the spool, and breaking because brittle from too wet... i think.

I've replacement nozzles & the https://noclogger.com/ tool @gooba42 recommended after watching a vid. Maybe it can save my 0.4mm.

It's 4:08 PM. This was all day.

I'm not sure what I did to deserve today's printer karma.

After addressing problems until 4:30 I started a new print, but apparently I gave it the wrong filament settings and this happened.

Restarting now with the right temperature settings 🤞

has anyone tried milling D&D style Miniatures on a 4 axis ?

I don't know enough to know if this is a stupid idea or not, but metal minis would be pretty cool.

I know that in theory it's possible but i'm not sure how detailed you can get.

We live in remarkable times.

So, I'm on a flight. Wifi has been dodgy (can't reliably read email) with a full out outage of ~30min. I started poking around, as you do. Internet speed test, ping, traceroute. Speed is great when things connect but the test timed out 2x. Sounds like a latency problem. Ping to curiousduck.io ranged from 660 - 1075ms. Slow is to be expected but > 1s is probably the issue.

Ooh, improved error messages in the new version of Bambu Studio. Unfortunately the button is "i've fixed it" and there's nothing for "how do i fix it"

Well, the wood impregnated filament seem to burn and… harden? And break off Inside there. I removed it. I confirmed that there is no blockage in the hot end. The filament sensor is 👍.

I shoved some of the cleaning needles in each end and they informed me that there was something right in the center between the two where I don’t actually have access that is causing the problem

Found the little bastard.
I have had to take the printer out of its enclosure in order to have any hope of actually seeing the thing with my eyeball because all attempts to get tweezers on it have failed

‘s excellent tool suggestion: i have shoved a 1.5mm allen key in there as hard as i dare and it didn’t budge.

I’m beginning to fear the worst but shall press on until all options have been exhausted.

I ended up needing to completely disassemble the extruder, but once i did there was nothing left to hold it in and it just fell out.

Of course THIS happened when i tried to use it next.
