It's crazy when I see my co-workers who can't touch-type. Like, did I also used to be that slow?
Learning to touch-type is probably one of the best choices I've ever made. It only took like two weeks to learn (plus about a month to get used to it).
It's also just so fun and satisfying. Clickity-clackity :meowbongo:
@dopey_kun@jussi I work in tech and I get so confused when I notice a colleague who I’ve been working with for years can’t touch type. Like, I get that it’s a skill but I just imagine you’d pick it up over the years if you get paid 8 hours a day to sit in front of a computer. 🫥
@tido Hi. Thanks for your recommendation. Unfortunately the deadline for nominations has passed and I won't be about to include @ruari in the recommendations on account that he rides a unicycle.
Now please read the keys between H and L on your keyboard and you'll be happy to know I will certainly fix what should have been fixed a long time ago.
Do you have a cat and do you feed it pouches of food and do you tear open those pouches with your hand at the point that is specifically made for tearing instead of cutting them with scissors and does the cat food juice spray across your hand almost every time you open it or is that just me?
@snail oh, I do the shaking! Quite often, because my cats have so few teeth left, I mush it up in the pouch too before the shake and open. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I don't do any mushing and pour it out as one slab and make the furballs do some work for once. 😅
Here's a video of Steve Jobs showcasing a new feature in iTunes... podcasts!
"You could try to sell podcasts but the whole phenomenon is so great - it's free. And I think what we're going to see is an advertising-supported model emerge, just like free radio."
Apparently the term 'podcast' is a portmanteau of 'iPod' and 'broadcasting'. Here, Steve picks the latest episode from the Adam Curry Podcast and is quick to hit the stop button. 😆
Speaking of podcasts, Poetry Unbound is a lovely relaxing listen. It's a gateway into poetry for those that haven't yet found an appreciation for it and an audio-booster for those that already enjoy poetry.
There is a lookout point near me called "Grefsenkollen". A few years back now when I started to unicycle regularly again I thought to myself, I suddenly wondered if I could unicycle up to the top.
I suspected not but eventually I got brave enough to try and I made it!
